Backstory...

On holiday at an all inclusive hotel with kids club etc. Got some tan lines from my bikini so this afternoon took the bikini top off to try and sort them out. DH comes over and says it is inappropriate near the kids pool. I said that he had his top off so why couldn’t I. He said because I was female.

I didn’t put the bikini top back on but is it inappropriate? It’s just boobs?

I guess the thing that bothers me the most is that surely if you are doing something that causes others to feel embarrassed or uncomfortable or whatever, the kind and polite thing to do is to stop.

An adult pool I think it’s ok - but not a children’s pool. It’s said it’s double standards if it’s ok for your hubby to have his top off not you - unless you tell us you are also walking around the hotel topless - I don’t think it’s the same thing.

OP are you the only one topless there ? No, plenty of other women are, around the kids pool and the other adult pool. It’s permitted at this hotel also. We are in Ibiza.

I don’t mind topless sunbathing, I do it and it’s pretty much everywhere in Europe (aside from U.K.), what I’m not keen on are the flaunters, they’re a bit weird. There was a woman around the pool a couple of years ago who was in her 40s, had bought herself some boobs and spent way too long either showering topless at the open showers, or standing at the edge of the pool elsewhere doing her hair 😂 Not so much offensive as just ridiculous though!

I don’t like to walk around topless, that’s a bit much.. but just laying on a lounger sunbathing? It’s fine.

Wouldn't bother me in the slightest, nor DH. I don't do it any more but when I was younger I got them out on every holiday. I much preferred how I looked naked without any 'great white headlights' staring at me.

These days I'm older and fatter so I wear a full costume and my breasts have gone from a lovely C cup to a G(ood) G(od!) so I feel too self-conscious. I still see plenty of women topless though and don't even blink.
