More of a WWYD - Naked wanking neighbour

Hi everyone sorry I'm posting here for traffic.

A month ago a couple moved into the house two doors down from me ("MNN" - male new neighbour). Other than an acknowledging nod in passing I have never spoken to them.

One night a couple of weeks ago I came home at about 10.30 at night and MNN was stood in his lounge window with the lights on, curtains wide open and butt naked. I saw everything. I thought it may have been an accident i.e it's late at night and he's just walking around naked (although the way I drive in to my parking space my lights would have shone right in his window Hmm ).

Then another night I came home at about 10.30 again and there was someone having extremely loud sex - it was a hot night so everyone had their windows open. As I got home my 13yo DD was closing her window to block out the sex noises. (In fairness I cannot say whether it was definitely the new neighbours but I did do the obligatory mumsnet clap when they finished Grin ).

Then last week my NDN (between me and new neighbours) told me that his cleaner had been in his kitchen in the middle of the day and MNN had been in his own garden at the top naked and wanking. MNN saw the cleaner and rather than looking sheepish and running inside he kept going only harder Hmm .

I have just got back from picking DD up from a party and, driving into our parking area where we have to look straight at new neighbours' house, MNN was in his bedroom, window open, curtains open wanking away. DD noticed it and even commented saying "is that really necessary".

I do wish I had shouted at the time "close your curtains" but it didn't occur to me at the time.

If it weren't for my NDN's story about his cleaner I would assume it was just carelessness but tonight it was almost as if he had deliberately positioned himself so anyone driving up or walking past would see. I don't think I feel comfortable knocking and asking them to ensure curtains are closed as it's just me and DD so don't want to draw specific attention to us - particularly as he can see into our garden and it just feels creepy tbh. Their house is rented so at least they may not be there permanently.

@thesnapandfartisinfallible

I would go knock on his dorr and tell him very calmly "I've seen you, masturbating in the window. And if my 13 year old daughter catches so much as a glimpse of your dick, not only will I be calling the police complaining about the nonce next door, you'll be singing soprano in prison. Are we absolutely, crystal fucking clear?"

Grin Love this response!

Glad you called 101 OP. What a creep.

Fivelittleduckies · 15/07/2018 13:27

Well done on ringing the police OP he sounds very off indeed

sjiojj · 15/07/2018 13:31

OP I once had a situation very similar to this. a neighbour a few doors down stood in his window wanking at me.

It was awful. The police did get involved, and they let him off with a warning as long as he drew his curtains and didn't do it again. Thankfully, it never happened again.

He's doing it on purpose and you could speak to the police. They'll have a word with him and that should sort things.

ApolloandDaphne · 15/07/2018 13:35

Creepy pervert. Hopefully the police will sort it out.

Overgrownyard · 15/07/2018 13:35

God. I feel a whole lot better about my shit neighbour Shock ... report OP. What a weirdo!

skoda62 · 15/07/2018 13:44

Video it. Or if too embarrassed to do that, get someone to do for you. I wouldn't hesitate if a lady asked me to video a guy wanking in a window for all to see. Making sure you got a good shot of his face (never mind the other type of shot). Then load onto a disc and hand to police.

notapizzaeater · 15/07/2018 13:47

Hope the police help, sounds a right perv

OkMaybeNot · 15/07/2018 13:49

Glad you reported. That's really gross.

rosesandflowers1 · 15/07/2018 13:50

Ugh.

If he's got exhibitionist fantasies he should find a way to live them out without exposing himself to children! Or just close his bloody curtains and masturbate in privacy as a preferable option.

Don't call 999 but the non-emergency one is 101.

ScrubTheDecks · 15/07/2018 13:50

Good.

His name will be know to the police now. He will probably claim it was an accident (hot, took clothes off, forgot curtains were open) etc. Is your middle neighbour prepared also to talk to the police?

Your Dd seems to be handling it in a very mature way, good for her.

I was regularly flashed at aged 8-14, went to a girls ‘ school next to a park. We thought they were pathetic and sort of funny , in an eye-rolling sort of way and were not disturbed by it. But of course it is not acceptable at all and the police are the right people to deal with it.

rosesandflowers1 · 15/07/2018 13:51

Seems I came too late! Well done regardless OP!

Bluntness100 · 15/07/2018 13:59

Id also get my next door neighbor to call 101 and the cleaner.

Sashkin · 15/07/2018 14:02

I was flashed as a child and wasn’t disturbed by it. But that is because I was a child and had no idea what else paedophiles might do to me. Willies=hilarious, aged 8. I was pretty innocent.

With a bit more knowledge of the world, an adult man cornering a child in a quiet country lane and masturbating (as happened to me) is terrifying. Anything could have happened.

Children’s trauma or lack thereof is not a good barometer of how disturbing somebody’s behaviour is. This man is wanking in his bedroom and garden, hoping that a 13yo is watching. That is intensely fucked up behaviour, and will almost certainly escalate.

Lilacwine1 · 15/07/2018 14:13

Absolutely disgusting. I wouldn't want my children seeing my next door neighbour, thrashing his old man for all it was worth. Phone the police, so they can catch him in the act.

ScrubTheDecks · 15/07/2018 14:14

Sashkin: I don’t think anyone is saying that children not feeling alarmed / disturbed makes it OK, just observing that thankfully witnessing this sort of thing does not automatically lead to children feeling traumatised. After all, we don’t WANT children disturbed, do we? But of course as adults we know it is a sexually aggressive use of power, and designed to show contempt for the onlooker.

“Nice men would never show their private parts like that. It is very very rude and not the right thing to do so we need to tell the police” should suffice for 8 year olds, and “you are right, no man with a healthy or good attitude to children / women and girls would behave like that and there is a danger that he may do something worse so we need to call the police” for 13 year olds. So they recognise that it is serious, without scaring them.

Bellmyring · 15/07/2018 14:24

Thanks for reporting a creep. Get him on police radar!

bringbacksideburns · 15/07/2018 14:35

Yes. Make sure your NDN reports him too. Seriously creepy.

Are you on your own OP? Because if you are he's doing it even more because he thinks no one is going to kick his arse. Yuk.

PeckhamPauline · 15/07/2018 14:39

Report to police (and take a photo if you see him doing it again!).

NicoAndTheNiners · 15/07/2018 14:41

Oh and I'd make sure the neighbours all know about the pervert amongst you.

LittleMissPetty · 15/07/2018 14:42

Thank you everyone for the support. I haven't been contacted yet but neighbours have been out most of the day so not sure if police would have had a chance to speak to them yet.

For those wondering why I asked on here first it's because all the times I've seen him it never seems actually directed at me but he just happens to be naked at the time IYKWIM. It's the same with him wanking yesterday; although he was in full view of anyone walking past, he wasn't directly looking out the window to see who was watching so again wasn't directed AT us.

Regardless I'm glad I called the police because whether it is accidental or deliberate he needs talking to.

DD is being very mature about it all, knows I called the police, knows there have been other suspect incidents and I've told her that if anything else happens she's to let me know.

Sweetpea55 · 15/07/2018 14:44

Why arent you reporting this to the police?

GreenMeerkat · 15/07/2018 14:45

Bloody hell.

RTFT people.

SHE HAS CALLED THE POLICE!!

Sweetpea55 · 15/07/2018 14:45

Apologies,,i clicked too soon. Glad that something is being done about it

LanguidLobster · 15/07/2018 14:46

What? She's reported

ScrubTheDecks · 15/07/2018 15:01

Oh, it isn’t an accident, OP.

He will probably just claim it is. Which is why your NDN’s report will be important: that she knows he saw and didn’t stop.

But the police will know he is lying, I would guess.
