To have had enough of this weather!

I know I know. We should enjoy it but oh my god, I am so uncomfortable.

I've hardly slept for that past 3 nights. I feel irritable and headachey.
My living room is currently a toasty 29 degrees and that's with a huge fan and all of the windows open.

Please tell me I'm not alone with not loving a hot UK!
And before anyone says about all of the snow we had, I would much rather have that. Much easier to warm up than it is to cool down.

I feel like I'm the scrooge of summer!

My 2 year old is suffering so much in this heat. He has terrible eczema and at the moment it's so aggravated that he scratches himself until he bleeds. Can't wait for cooler weather!

QueenOfIce · 09/07/2018 15:11

You all need to book a holiday to Cornwall that way it's guaranteed to rain Grin

UpstartCrow · 09/07/2018 15:12

Giggage is on to something. I'm off to take down the curtains and wash them.

mummc2 · 09/07/2018 15:23

It’s just started raining in South Yorkshire 👍🏻

ILoveMyDressingGown · 09/07/2018 15:41

I think it's moved from us to you @mummc2 - we're on the west/south yorks border. It rained for about 5 minutes, twice, and is now back to sunny, albeit cloudy and a bit fresher!

flamingofridays · 09/07/2018 15:49

Looks like it's going to rain here and was forecast this morning but so far just a bit of cloud and nothing else!

SlartiAardvark · 09/07/2018 16:01

Best Summer Ever!!

I'm hoping this is the shape of things to come....

BatShitBuns · 09/07/2018 16:02

You're hoping for endless summers of drought, crops dying and major health risks for the young and very elderly?

helzapoppin2 · 09/07/2018 16:03

Blessed relief, we’ve got cloud today. I’ve opened the front door for a while and the temperature has dropped 2.5 degrees. That’s more like it!

Strax · 09/07/2018 16:06

Still boiling hot and humid here. No rain forecast for ages. I've taken all the duvets off the bed and replaced them with sheets and I've put all the winter clothes away. That should do the trick.

Metoodear · 09/07/2018 16:24
Biscuit

It’s not hot and unless you have a medical condition you can not convince me you need a coat

It was 24 degrees at 8:30 this morning it’s not going to fecking rain and to the person who I saw with a jumper and a coat on their child going to school this morning Biscuit

I am sweating from my eyes the cat is under the bed sweating
Unless these people it’s coats have foreseen a blizzard then I think you Confused

IsItComingHome · 09/07/2018 16:29

We aren't equipped to deal with it. No silent ceiling fans, no aircon, no nice pools in the garden. Yep I've had enough too!

SlartiAardvark · 09/07/2018 16:40

Funny, my farmer friend was quite cheerful that he'd be able to get his crop in earlier than expected, not have to dry it & could turn the fields round ready for the next lot.

No drought yet....

The young will get used to it (like they do in the med) & it's very rarely "just right" for the elderly!

So on the whole yes, Long may it continue.....

Sallystyle · 09/07/2018 17:47

I can only presume the people that are liking this weather still, must work in an air conditioned office with an air conditioned car to drive to and from work

I have air con in my car but I do not work in an air-conditioned office. I am out and about often in my job, using public transport, shopping and cleaning or sitting in hot rooms with no air-con. I simply love summer and the heat. Cold makes me feel ill so I am loving this.

I know there are jobs out there that make working in this heat awful. The only time I have really been too hot is when I worked in a hospital on the 3rd floor, no air-con as a HCA. It takes a lot for me to feel too hot. I remember my son working in the kitchen last summer and it made him feel very faint and ill.

I do want some rain for my pond and garden now though.

Sallystyle · 09/07/2018 17:52

The forecast isn't looking great here this week actually.

18 and cloudy tomorrow. 21-23 with sunny intervals W-F and we get full sun and 25c again on Saturday. Boo.

RoryGillmoresEvilTwin · 09/07/2018 18:06

This is truly amazing! I think collectively we (the heat hating ones) are like the The Witches of Eastwick...its downright chilly where I am. I'm in skinny jeans and a cardigan. It's Lovely!

LanguidLobster · 09/07/2018 18:40

Oi, @Rory, stop boasting Angry

I looked up met office forecasts for my area and it's supposed to drop soon...

halfwitpicker · 09/07/2018 18:46

Cooler tomorrow.

Stop complaining.

RoryGillmoresEvilTwin · 09/07/2018 18:49

Languid I'm sending you my chilly vibes...

LanguidLobster · 09/07/2018 18:54

That sounds quite sinister!

However if I have rain I'll worship and adore you (and break out the cardies)

RoryGillmoresEvilTwin · 09/07/2018 18:59

😂 I thought it looked slightly odd when I re-read it.

LuxuryWoman2017 · 09/07/2018 19:01

Beautiful breeze here in SE all Doors open and I've changed the sheets as I might just get some sleep tonight. Bliss.

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 09/07/2018 19:04

It's cooler here today

But my stupid house is just holding the heat. I've also been wearing a lead lined jacket all day today! Eurgghh

It's 25 at the moment outside and still 30 in the bastard house!

Danceintherain2018 · 09/07/2018 19:26

It's like an actual sauna here!! I think I actually sweat less in the sauna than I am right now Blush

Tortycat · 09/07/2018 20:09

loving the sun! helps that we've just come back from 2 week holiday in Cornwall- when we booked it months ago i was praying for a decent summer!

The garden is suffering a bit, but a long spell of good weather is so nice. If we only get a few days here and there i feel i have to soend 100% time outside, whereas now it feels less precious so i can go about life normally, but just in the sunshine. And finally get to wear summer clothes that are hardly worn except I've got too fat waiting for the sun
