So in light of the fact we are experiencing a heatwave & still have a few months of Summer to go please tell me about your favourite UK beach resort/destination.

Unfortunately my knowledge is pretty limited as my parents whisked us away to their respective countries for every holiday & we therefore only had the odd day/weekend trip to the beach.

Luce Bay in Scotland, stunning and seemed to have its own (hot) micro climate.
Whitby area, but keep out of my favourite, I don't want to share!

@UrsulaPandress Rhosneigr is a long stretch with several ways to get onto the beach. i agree the main part where everyone goes onto it from the town is nothing special, but the part past the Oystercatcher bar if you walk through the dunes and along the river, is lovely. We also get onto it from a campsite we stay at and that part has the river at the end and is very quiet and the dogs love it.

UrsulaPandress · 04/07/2018 14:51

That's probably the bit we call Lion Rock.

North Devon has lovely beaches. Woolacombe, Croyde, Braunton

IrianOfW · 04/07/2018 16:12

Porthcurno gets weird bus trips where people in jeans and raincoats come and stand along the shore and ruin the view. Then they go away and more come. I blame Poldark.

Another Dorset girl here. I grew up in Swanage and spent every summer living on the beach. It's great for kids, very family friendly
