I love my little carrot top. It looks so cute, thick copper hair.

The pic where he is asleep in his car seat, with the grey cardi on, he was around 5 weeks old.

The last two were taken today at 18 weeks old. It's got very whispy at the top and sides. He has a bald patch at the back like most babies.

Has anyone had a ginger baby and they've changed colour?

My 4 year old grandson was born with ginger hair and was exactly the same as your son
His hair is still a lovely ginger colour and really thick now
My sister’s granddaughter tells him it is orange!!!!!!!

Not ginger but DS1 was born with dark brown hair which fell out around 8 weeks to be replaced with blonde hair. I know of a little girl who had the same.

My DS was ginger at birth, he's now 13 and a blonde. Both lovely!!

My DS was ginger when his hair first started coming through but it didn't last & it went dark brown by the time he was five.

I'd put money on him staying ginger.

DSis was born with amazing red-auburn hair (none in our family so probably a bit of a shock for DF!) but it all fell out at 6 months and grew back brown.

Mixed responses. I know my DP would like it to change colour but i don't. In the whisky areas, it seems more like a gingery blond.

I don't think it will change looking at the pics! My DD was born ginger, looked like Johnny Rotten - she gradually changed, got more mousy and is now blonde! I'm naturally sort of chestnut, dad is blonde.

He is gorgeous :) If he was going to change I think it would have happened by 18 weeks.

DS had inch long ginger hair at birth. Hair only around the sides above his ears. By 1 it was goldish brown, it’s got darker and darker as he’s got older. Now firmly a brunette at almost 8.

Family of gingers here, gear not as that shade of ginger won't go dark

They say the hair can change in the first year and its changed a lot already

I think it’ll stay too. My twins were ginger at birth but quickly went blond and is now dirty blond at age 9.

My dd has is blonde but the midsection of her hair is that colour. It is gorgeous. She was born with very little hair but when it grew it was very, very fair. She now has yellowy blonde hair on top, very strawberry blonde in the midsection and ash blonde underneath. The red came as she grew so I imagine that there is a possibility that your little ones hair will change. I agree with you though, the colour is gorgeous. This is my dds multi coloured hair now. She was almost white blonde as a baby.

I was ginger til I was about 2 year old.

Now mines an ash brown with slight copper bits at the front on my baby hair

I was born with orange hair and it's darkened to a kind of auburn.
