I love my little carrot top. It looks so cute, thick copper hair.

The pic where he is asleep in his car seat, with the grey cardi on, he was around 5 weeks old.

The last two were taken today at 18 weeks old. It's got very whispy at the top and sides. He has a bald patch at the back like most babies.

Has anyone had a ginger baby and they've changed colour?

My DD was ginger (although perhaps not quite as ginger as your lovely little boy) and she went blonde by the time she was 18m/2.

I think if there are ginger genes in the family it will probably stay- if not, then possibly not.

My best friend growing up was ginger as a child and then turned dark blonde around 11/12.

My hair is light brown and my husband is olive skinned with dark brown hair, my nan was auburn but no ginger on my husbands size that we know of 🤔

OP, family in America have two grand daughters, one dark haired one a dark copper shade . since she had it cut .
The little one with dark copper, when she was born, it was a lighter copper shade . The Dad has ginger hair but its lightened to look more blonde in his adult life oddly.

I’ve known both, OP - some stayed red, some didn’t. It’s like their eyes, only time will tell.

He’s beautiful whether he’s ginger, brunette, blond or bald!

We will wait and see! My other son is olive and dark hair....genes are amazing!

My grandma had auburn hair, my cousins have auburn hair It was a relief when both my children came out with dark hair and olive skin. Nothing against red hair though

I think given the 'orange' shade, it's likely to stay.

My dd was born ginger and has stayed ginger, she hates it despite everyone being envious of her hair. DS was born blonde that then went ginger and it's still ginger many years later.
I too reckon your little one will remain ginger for life.

Amazing how their hair changes when they’re young! Your baby has beautiful colouring OP! Don’t see that changing! Dd had thick jet black hair from birth until she was 1. It’s now this mix of blonde, brown and the occasional white streak. Big change from the raven black!

I think it will stay... I have one blond blue eyed child out of a whole bunch of brown eyed brown haired children. Not sure where he came from but depute me thinking the blind would go, he's 7 now and still blonde!

People are just so rude sometimes! It would break my heart to see his little face crying because someone bullying him about his hair!

Sadly kids do still bully other kids who have ginger hair.
