DH just gone away for three days, otherwise he would talk me down I’m sure. But right now it’s just me and the DC and I’ve opened DDs room to discover this.... nest? Chrysalis? It’s about 5cm x 3cm. Help!

I would never have guessed snail, but I think PPs are right. You can see the lip of the shell at the top.

Ok so smallest DC in bed. Just crept in and there’s been a slight change. DD saw it first and shouted “there’s a black thing coming out of the top!”. Well clearly my heart nearly failed at this point. But check this out....

WRT snails - one was lazy-ly making its way across my windscreen last week, I was driving and CBA to stop and remove it (it was very small) and no, I didn't put my wipers on the kill it/shift it.

If it's full of baby spiders a towel won't be enough, you'll need a torch.

I once made the mistake of smacking a very odd looking spider with my sandal, turned out it was odd looking because it was covered in its babies. I still get chills thinking about the explosion of baby spiders everywhere.
