DH just gone away for three days, otherwise he would talk me down I’m sure. But right now it’s just me and the DC and I’ve opened DDs room to discover this.... nest? Chrysalis? It’s about 5cm x 3cm. Help!

Washing up gloves if you must, get a chair to stand on, cover whatever it is with a glass, the darn thing is only small!, and push a card underneath it. Have DCs nearby to open doors or windows for you to take it outside.

I would remove with a glass and card I think. It doesn't look like a wasp nest to me.

When I turn the picture side on it definitely looks like a snail.

Zoom to the top of it and look to the left, looks like the ridgy soft bit on a slithery snail

If it's a snail, I'm massively impressed it's gone all the way to the top of the ceiling.

I never did see a snail looking anything like that

This is what I suggest.

• Protective Eye Wear or Sunglasses will do.
• Gloves.
• A bit of cotton wool in both nostrils or a protective mask.
• Broom.

Use broom handle to safely poke from a distance.
