To be fucking furious that a Tory MP just prevented upskirting being made a criminal offence?

Tory MP Christopher Chope has just singlehandedly prevented the passing of the private members bill supported by the government that would have made upskirting a sexual offence, by shouting Object.

Can I urge you all to leave a message on his parliamentary office answerphone and email him to ask why he thinks men should be entitled to photograph women's genitalia?

It was supposed to become illegal today, but the wonderful quirks of our political system mean that if, when the private members bill is announced, a single MP shots object, the bill fails.

Really. Check the voting records of all the parties. Check the budgets of the last 8 years. Who comes out worse in those two lists. Oh - women. Well that is a surprise.....

I think the general objection to this law is that it’s already covered by other laws so is unnecessary, rather than this MP thinking it is okay.

Oh the Tory women are out today. Pretending their party is no as full of dinosaurs as it so obviously is. The cognitive dissonance of supporting Chopes party and what he stands for at election time but not Chopes actions as a Tory MP must be taxing.
