I have not stopped laughing, crying and grinning since I read that, my family think I'm a loon. I'm sorry, I know it was a serious post on lots of different levels.. but... oh my god I keep laughing uncontrollably. I haven't had a chance to read the whole thread so was it a typo or did it actually happen? I just can't stop laughing!

@NotACleverName why was the baby in your mouth? Did you snap?Grin

LakieLady · 15/06/2018 08:02

Quick, call social services - there's a baby-eater on the loose!

StrangeLookingParasite · 15/06/2018 08:26

Nope not just you! I don't find it particularly hilarious either. And I have a good sense of humour. It's amazing what unfunny crap some people laugh at these days!!!

People have different senses of humour. When people find something funny that I don't I tend to just let them get on with it, rather than berating and putting them down for it.

MyOtherUsernameisaPun · 15/06/2018 09:00

It wasn't the fart that was funny in itself. It was OP's totally deadpan inclusion of it, as though it was a relevant detail that we needed to know (despite it not having anything to do with her AIBU). Followed by her inability to understand why it was funny or why people were confused that she'd mentioned it. The whole thing was just brilliant.

SeamstressfromTreacleMineRoad · 15/06/2018 09:21

Can someone reassure me that I'm not the only person who is capable of reading the whole thing with a completely straight face and not even fight the mildest grin?

Another one here who just can't see anything even remotely funny in either thread... Shall we form a 'We are not amused' society...? 😊

DanglyEarOrnaments · 15/06/2018 09:25

I was amused Grin

PsychoPumpkin · 15/06/2018 09:43

It wasn’t funny to me to start off with as I assumed ‘farted’ was an unfortunate typo. When OP came back and addressed the ‘did you mean to say farted?’ Questions with a simple ‘I have IBS’ it tickled me so much that I did actually cry with laughter, and I really don’t do that often.

It wasn’t the word ‘fart’ we were all laughing at.

Snapnfart · 15/06/2018 09:56

It was the nonchalance of just including the seemingly irrelevant detail mid sentence that got me. She included it it as though it’s something everyone does in temper - ‘so I snapped and told him to f-off’ or ‘I snapped and stormed off in a mood’ but temper trumping isn’t something that most people do. Or am I missing out on a great way to win arguments with my partner?! It must have been massive to have been noteworthy!

hotstepper4 · 15/06/2018 09:57

I'm crying again. Someone needs to find the op and knight her

Ooopsijustsnarted · 15/06/2018 09:59

I'm on holiday this week, and I was sat on the balcony last night giggling to myself hoping the neighbours weren't in. 😂😂😂

Bigpizzalover · 15/06/2018 10:03

I read it yesterday. I’m still laughing today. OMG I can’t stop hahahaha

Bigpizzalover · 15/06/2018 10:03

Oh dear just read a comment from PP ‘temper trumping’ I’m off again

Justpondering2018 · 15/06/2018 10:13

Has anyone realised that Dog has actually commented on this thread?

Bluelonerose · 15/06/2018 10:18

How does one snap and fart?

Coz in my head I can just see the bend and snap from legally blonde Grin

Ancientmummyofwooooos · 15/06/2018 10:19

OH caught me giggling, had to explain snapped and farted to him, im looking forwards to my first snart Grin

NotAnotherNoughtiesTune · 15/06/2018 10:23

My humour can be immature. It can be sophisticated too. I don't chose what makes me laugh. It's normally quirky and random things that make me laugh.

But yes I do have a bit of an immature humour sometimes - so what? Is it harming Moaning Minnie in Stonyfaceopolis if I'm laughing?

I think laughter is amazing. If you want to be shitty about it, get some Dioralyte.

notgivingin789 · 15/06/2018 10:28

This is a TAAT !

MyAuntyBadger · 15/06/2018 10:35

I thought it was funny and the follow up posts by OP got funnier. Then another poster asked the OP if it was the same guy that her dog told to piss off. Proper belly laugh then.

POPholditdown · 15/06/2018 10:43

Ah I see the fun sponges are out this fine morning!

The farting as a ‘last-resort ammunition in arguments’ floored me, I was ok until then 😂

bettytaghetti · 15/06/2018 10:57

I do think given that this is mumsnet, there ought to have been some sort of warning on the thread. I mean, some people may have just had a c-section. There could be an unanticipated burden on the NHS having to repair a whole bunch of ruptured stitches!

HebeMumsnet · 15/06/2018 11:00

Morning folks. Thanks for your reports on this thread. We're not sure just how serious the OP of the original thread was, but we don't think there's any harm in either of them. We're going to leave this one up for now as it seems to be keeping a few of you amused. If anyone asks for a 'snapped and farted' emoji though, we might have to bin it off. Wink

NotAnotherNoughtiesTune · 15/06/2018 11:07

@HebeMumsnet well that's my next question answered Smile

starryeyed19 · 15/06/2018 11:12

She was awful but snapped and farted is fucking GOLD

ChristineAndMaryBeth · 15/06/2018 11:29

The OP was funny but it was other people’s comments underneath that finished me off

Goldmonday · 15/06/2018 11:40

Hahahahahah @bettytaghetti agreed!!!!!

My stomach was already in agony after a failed attempt at a work out so I was in crippling pain after reading the thread.
