Parking one - a CF in BOTH our spaces

So we have two allocated parking spaces, we pay a premium for them. Someone has parked over both spaces, literally in the middle. I've blocked them in Grin

Waiting for the doorbell to ring. I might go out.

This is what I love after a hard day dealing with lots of CF’s!

Lake lady your offices are not near a countryside centre are they, similar parking problems with yummy mummies and their offspring piling out of 4x4 s to enjoy the outdoors while they sip mochas in the coffee shop Wink

UrsulaPandress · 31/05/2018 19:19

Iince blocked someone in who had parked in my reserved place in the office car park.

They bounced my car out of the way to get out.

Hmm

Blimey!
No one fucks with the Mumsnet parking Mafia. Shock

So she's gone. I believe that she didn't call my EA her boss did. She was also very apologetic. I wonder if she's an MNer?

So, why didn't she just knock your door and ask you to move, instead of saying she was going to be late?

Almost parking.... Used to have a very small car about 20 yrs ago (similar size as a Smart, but eastern european) and when I was looking for a parking space in our very narrow road (cars parked both sides, one car fits between them) a big black SUV comes from the opposite of the street. He was 510 meters in, I was about 90. So I stopped, waiting for him to reverse and let me thru. He didn't. Horns, harsh words... I didn't nudge. I was very early 20s and against the world. And I was also right. In about 2 minutes the black car's driver got really mad, stepped out, started yelling in my face...Then his friends also got out of the car. 4 body building type guys. I'm small. Honestly thought they were going to hurt me, so closed the door, window up.
Well I didn't get hurt, but they hurled up my car with me in it and put it on the pavement.
It was so absurd I didn't know if I should be angry or laugh... I ended up laughing until a policeman came up to give me a ticket for parking on the pavement (1 minute or so later). Fortunately there were some bystanders who told my story, as I was still not quite myself :) And the policeman didn't believe it. It took a few ppl to convince him.

Now, 20 yrs later I have a Smart (for London it's the best!) and this story just keeps resurfacing in my mind whenever I go into narrow streets. Which never happens here of course....

one of my CF neighbors stole my bin and painted their no all over it in the totally mistaken belief i wouldn't take it back, they were very much mistaken, we now have evil stares at dawn whenever we cross paths!

Gbtch · 31/05/2018 22:33

What sort of a diagram is that? What's with the abbreviations? Are you a civil servant?
Doesn't make it clearer for me. Soz.

My neighbour got a new boyfriend with a lovely new car which he kept parking in my space (which I have to pay for) as his girlfriend parked in hers. Even after notes left on his windshield and polite request for him not to park there. My husband's work van broke down,he had it towed home with the intentions of parking it in our drive. When husband arrived home the neighbour's boyfriends car was in our space. So my husband got the tow man to place his can right behind the car. There was a knock on our door at around 10pm which my husband did not answer. The boyfriend the following day called the local council to remove my husband's van. I'm lucky for him. The council could not remove it as it was parked on the owners property. After a week my husband moved the can allowing him to move his car after the boyfriend covered costs in order for him to beable to move his car... He has not parked in my space since

Having rented multiple properties, from my experience it seems that EAs tend to employ young women to show people around houses. It could just be that she was actually worried/scared about the response that she would get.

StormTreader · 01/06/2018 10:04

"It could just be that she was actually worried/scared about the response that she would get."

She clearly wasn't THAT worried to park across two spaces she knew weren't hers to park in.

TheBigFatMermaid · 01/06/2018 13:51

It could just be that she was actually worried/scared about the response that she would get.

There's a really easy way to avoid feeling worried and scared about the response- not park across two spaces on someone else's drive in the first place.

People that do this IME don't think that far ahead

TheBigFatMermaid

I agree but that wasn't the question that I was answering.

StormTreader · 01/06/2018 17:08

"People that do this IME don't think that far ahead"

And yet she thought far enough ahead to realise she might have made someone angry through her selfishness.

DGRossetti · 01/06/2018 17:26

that EAs tend to employ young women to show people around houses.

I'd hope there's no discrimination going on ? And that personal safety is a premium, for those of us old enough to remember Suzy Lamplugh Sad .

BoneyBackJefferson · 01/06/2018 19:31

StormTreader
