Parking one - a CF in BOTH our spaces

HighwayDragon1 · 30/05/2018 11:21

So we have two allocated parking spaces, we pay a premium for them. Someone has parked over both spaces, literally in the middle. I've blocked them in Grin

Waiting for the doorbell to ring. I might go out.

OP posts:
SchadenfreudePersonified · 30/05/2018 13:05

Clearly we have a better class of estate agent around these parts

Or more terrifying vehicles parked in your drives. . . Grin

I am heartbroken that I have discovered this thread just as it has resolved.

It there any way to flag up a parking thread, a CF thread, or a thread with a diagram so that we receive an urgent alert (possibly a sort of air-raid warning sound, and some flashing lights) when we log in to MN? If not, why not? Just WHY NOT!?!?!?!?!

Clutterbugsmum · 30/05/2018 13:05

Thanks for the update. She is a total liar though I think Surely that comes with working for an EA Grin.

Iwantacampervan · 30/05/2018 13:08

I've enjoyed reading this almost as much as I enjoyed watching a traffic warden ticket a car parked on double yellow lines outside the Co Op in our village this morning. The owner of the car wasn't even in the Co Op but a shop down the road. Parking in our village is difficult but is no helped by people parking where they want.

Astella22 · 30/05/2018 13:09

Ahhh such a shame she was so reasonable, I was hoping for a right CF.

BoobleMcB · 30/05/2018 13:13

Oh dear lol I seem to have started something here, I am sorry.

Apparently the irony was missed by most! 😂

Glad some people learned a thing or two though. Apologies OP I didn't mean to derail anything

DiagramFan · 30/05/2018 13:16

This diagram is tough on the eyes.

Racecardriver · 30/05/2018 13:17

A bit of an anti climax. I was hoping she would pitch a tent and stay there all night.

MissConductUS · 30/05/2018 13:18

All good parking threads come to an end eventually.

Yamayo · 30/05/2018 13:24

Has Jaina updated her bin story? May I suggest a new thread?

LighthouseSouth · 30/05/2018 13:26

"Just joining in here to thank @Flowerpot for educating me into what the 'I'm on' button did"

Were you expecting a list of recreational drugs? Grin

InspMorse · 30/05/2018 13:34

Now THAT is what everyone should do if they behave like a CF.
Apologise a million times over and over again.
CF, I think you might be forgiven but don't EVER do it again.

Hope this works :-)

Andrewofgg · 30/05/2018 14:09

Iwantacampervan - I once saw a car parked in Chancery Lane - a very narrow road where just thinking of parking makes you a CF - with a ticket on the front from the City of Westminster and a ticket on the back from the City of London. It was parked across the boundary, and I hope one or both of them clamped it!

thecatsarecrazy · 30/05/2018 14:38

Silly cow. I live in a row of 5 houses and we all have 2 spaces each. We only have 1 car and its only ever my mil that uses the 2nd on the odd visit. I haven't had anyone park on both our spaces yet but our neighbors visitors always park on our 2nd space instead of hers Confused

SamHeughansLeftEyebrow · 30/05/2018 16:05

I want to know what her excuse was for taking up BOTH spaces. Parking in one because she couldn't get on the drive is one thing, but parking so badly she uses two spaces is another matter entirely!

BlueEyedBengal · 30/05/2018 16:11

Parking thread love, love, love a parking thread!

LakieLady · 30/05/2018 16:42

It would make my year to be able to block someone in.

Oooh, come and work at our place!

My team have 7 spaces reserved solely for us, because we are in and out all day and the nearest on-street parking is a good 5-10 minutes away. Despite these spaces being clearly marked "reserved" people visiting other companies on the site, or from other offices of ours, persist in parking in our spaces. We block them in on principle, so they don't do it again.

Two of these businesses have very well-heeled clients and the posher the car, the greater our delight at blocking them in. Some arrogant fucker in a Maserati tried to call the police, because he was blocked in by someone who'd gone somewhere with another worker and hadn't left her keys. The police told him that it was private property and there was nothing they could do, and he gave them the whole "I pay your wages" shite (I was sitting in my car, pretending to be on my phone, so I could listen). He had to wait 2 hours to get out, and even the CEO was delighted by that!

My favourite was the couple with kids who parked up as I was leaving. I explained (politely) that they couldn't park there and their response was "But we're only going to the park for a picnic". Wtaf?

LakieLady · 30/05/2018 16:50

The first I knew of her dodgy parking was when I opened the garage door to get my car out. It turns out that those doors do stop when they hit something, but only after scraping a fair bit of paint off.

Oh Panda, that is fabulous! I wish I'd seen the CF's face.

A read of the insurance claim for paint job would have been good, too.

SoupDragon · 30/05/2018 17:16

It's much easier and quicker to just click on the bookmark than it is to post a message.

Not if you have your preferences set to “MN Classic” as that does not include the ability to bookmark.

Willow2017 · 30/05/2018 17:17

I dont have the app either. I click on desktop option (at bottom of the page) as its much easier to use. If you click at the right hand part of a post it comes up with 'bookmark' and it saves the thread there for you. No need to keep posting.

DesignStatement · 30/05/2018 18:48

Enjoyed reading this, but a bit confused.
Is EA an Estate Agent? If so, why would the car blocker phone the OP's Estate Agent?

AlpacaLypse · 30/05/2018 21:36

@DesignStatement yes EA is Estate Agent. The guilty car driver seems to have phoned her own office for advice, and the office, knowing who runs what in the town like people do, called their mate in the friendly rival estate agents who they happened to know was in charge of letting out OP's home. In fact come to think of it about 12 billion violations of data protection along the way to go with the CF parking!

DesignStatement · 30/05/2018 21:42

Thank you Alpaca - that explains it! Amazing - even more nerve than I thought.

SherbrookeFosterer · 31/05/2018 18:09

PROUDTHRILLEDHAPPY - your comment just made my day.

I only have a bag of peanuts, but I have laid them out nicely on a doily.

thebatman · 31/05/2018 18:37

I'm SO pissed I wasn't in on this as it was happening, I was hoping for at least "a fight to the death, the old Highland way, bare breasted and each carrying an eight pound baby" Parking wankers are the one thing guaranteed to get me stabby.
