Just that really.
I've found one that is really comfortable but very expensive. I just wondered how much yours cost!

Mine was £2500. I’d slept on cheap mattresses for years and my dream was always to have a really soft mattress I could sink in to! When I needed a new one I decided to just go for it and get the best I could afford. I absolutely love my bed now, although it’s made it harder to get up in the morning! But I just thought about how much of our lives we spend in bed, and felt it was worth it.

mando12345 · 26/05/2018 13:48

I think it was £950 and its worth every penny!
It was the cheapest vi spring in John Lewis and I love it.
It's coming up to ten years old now and is like new.

KatieKittens · 26/05/2018 13:49

About 200 quid. Was also the best I could afford. Its alright for a budget pocket sprung. A vast improvement from the last one that was in my flat when I arrived. (rented sector woes! )

I imagine I will have to replace it in a couple of years.

AskMeHow · 26/05/2018 13:51

And I thought £1000 for our new one was expensive! Bought a new bed last week, can't wait until it's delivered. Previous one was a lot cheaper, but it's done us well for 8 years.

AlpacaLypse · 26/05/2018 13:53

Following recommendations on here I bought an Ikea Hovag mattress, £250. I'm delighted, I'd actually budgeted £800 for the project!

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 26/05/2018 13:56

£2K, I think. Absolutely love it.

ScreamingValenta · 26/05/2018 13:56

It's a Hypnos one - I got it at a sale price, I think it was about £500.

DropZoneOne · 26/05/2018 13:57

£800ish Warren Evans memory foam

WhatsGoingOnEh · 26/05/2018 13:59

Wow - I want to make friends with everyone on here and cadge a night’s sleep in your posh beds!

Mine cane with the bed - which in total together was about £300 - FOURTEEN YEARS AGO. 😟

Eatmycheese · 26/05/2018 14:02

Mine was £2.5k but I got it on sale with £500 off
It’s a handmade extra firm one and I have never had a bad night’s sleep tossing and turning too hot etc ever.
Worth every penny. I love it.

Autocorrectible · 26/05/2018 14:03

£3500 Blush

Pippylou · 26/05/2018 14:04

£1700 but that was with discount. A ViSpring, will last for years and years. Went round the shops endlessly and even had some cheeky mare take a pic of me spreadeagled in John Lewis on one there.

Kept trying to find one like a ViSpring for less, then finally just got it. Back has been so much better! Worth every penny.

MasterLeonard · 26/05/2018 14:07

£800, but that included a new bed base, and a repair to a broken brass thingy on the bed frame. All the bed bits are from the same little company and I will be bereft if the lady who runs it ever retires. It is the most comfortable bed in the world.

TooRight · 26/05/2018 14:09

£1000 about a year ago. I loved it. It's now got a big urine stain on it after I did a Mumsnet trial of nappies which were rubbish and leaked everywhere Angry

Madbengalmum · 26/05/2018 14:10

£8500, top of the range vi spring, like sleeping on a cloud though! 😊

Iceweasel · 26/05/2018 14:11

£79 from Ikea, double, my 12 year old has the same in a single. We've had them 9 months now and so far they've been excellent.

NotAnotherNoughtiesTune · 26/05/2018 14:13

£1250

It was worth it. Our old one was £300 and felt very uncomfortable.

I rarely spend much but a good mattress is a must.

Fruitbat1980 · 26/05/2018 14:14
  1. It was handmade by welsh sheep in a shed in Cardiff or some such nonsense. Best bed in. The. World.
19lottie82 · 26/05/2018 14:14

£350 but my DH has a contact who sells mattresses to trade, so I think it retails at around £800.

mindutopia · 26/05/2018 14:25

About £250, it was just a relatively basic one from dreams (that at the time, many years ago before we were married, we bought on finance because we didn’t even have that!). It’s not great but it’s not awful either. I’ve given birth to 2 babies on it and it bares the scars of two children weeing and vomiting on it, so grateful we actually didn’t get one that was too dear! But once our youngest is old enough that it’s probably safe from being sicked all over again, we do plan to upgrade to something nicer. I think a mid range mattress with a pillow top added is a good investment. I’ve not sure I buy that all these really expensive mattresses are truly worth the cost, but if you won’t have little children around to ruin it in the future, a good mattress is worth the money if you can spare it.

mrsp2009 · 26/05/2018 14:26

3400 for our current Tempur one. Have bought various brands over the last 10 years all different types of firmness and prices but for me this is the one that I’ve found to be the most comfortable. Had it for about 3 months now after taking advantage of their 100 night like or return offer. The first one we tried was a bit too firm so we changed it after 60 nights to their softest one. It can be a bit warm though as you sink right into it. But I love it!

AlwaysPondering · 26/05/2018 14:28

£3k Blush it is superking and includes a bed with 4 draws but I still can't believe how much we spent. It is comfy though!

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 26/05/2018 14:37

£650, but that’s just the mattress. The bed frame is about another £800.

OliviaStabler · 26/05/2018 14:40

I think about £700. Was well worth the investment.

CocoAndTheChocolates · 26/05/2018 14:41

It was About £200 extra for a mattress when we were ordering the bedframe. Big mistake. So uncomfortable we weren't getting great sleep and our backs were getting worse.

MIL then bought us an expensive mattress topped and it's heaven. I wouldn't make that mistake again
