Just that really.
I've found one that is really comfortable but very expensive. I just wondered how much yours cost!

£260 from Forty Winks. Pocket sprung with a memory foam topper.

I can’t imagine spend more than £300 on a mattress ever.

honeyishrunkthekid · 26/05/2018 14:43

Thanks for replies. We're looking at one about £1400 which I wasn't sure would be too much but you can put a price on a good nights sleep I guess!

£850 for a Mammoth one (by name and nature!)

On a recent Work trip I actually caught myself saying “I miss you, bed” to myself as I was going to sleep (there may have been a tiny bit of alcohol involved...)
Seriously tho, I DO miss it whenever I’m away!

SimonBridges · 26/05/2018 14:44

£600 for a Casper. I love it.

About £500 from John Lewis to tide us over until JL sale started and then be relegated to spare bedroom. We were moving and old bed/mattress (Staples) was 25 years old and done (paid £1000 in a sale in 1988!) Didn't even lie on it.

It is absolutely brilliant and I would never spend thousands on a mattress/bed again. £500ish and replace regularly.

itstimeforanamechange · 26/05/2018 14:49

I think our current one cost around £400 from John Lewis several years ago. We probably need a new one now.

Pippylou · 26/05/2018 14:50

I did look at the entire ViSpring range and the top was a bed for £46k, I think...mine was practically the cheapest.

Queenoftheblitz · 26/05/2018 14:51

£500 about 8 years ago.

GimbleInTheWabe · 26/05/2018 14:52

About £800 I think. It's a pocket sprung one from the JL natural range. Got it 4 years ago and it's still bliss now. Had always slept on awful cheap mattresses until this and it was worth every penny! Never understood the hype of a memory foam one.

imonaplane · 26/05/2018 14:53

Ours is a Somnus. Cost about £3500 but worth every penny. Best nights sleep ever.

KenAdams · 26/05/2018 14:55

£3k - superking from the Handmade Bed Company. We have different firmnesses on each side. It's amazing.

SoozC · 26/05/2018 15:23

£600 memory foam mattress. We love it.

honeyishrunkthekid · 26/05/2018 16:56

Kenadams that's exactly what we want and also a superking. Really bumps the price up. I'm hoping it's worth it!

Butterflykissess · 26/05/2018 17:00

Wow mine was £ 50...

mavismcruet · 26/05/2018 17:06

Whole bed (super king) was around 3k. The most worthwhile purchase we have ever made. Helped bad backs and sleep plus room for all 4 of us.

starryflamingo · 26/05/2018 17:12

About £900 but that was with about 40% off. Extra firm memory foam with a cooling layer and I love it. My dad always says spend your money wisely but invest in a good bed and a good pair of shoes because when you're not in one, you're in the other.

morningtoncrescent62 · 26/05/2018 17:16

This is a really interesting thread because I've been facing up to needing to get a new mattress. Mine 's getting on for 20 years old now and I think you're supposed to replace them every 8 years or so. Blush

I've picked up a couple of recommendations from this thread. I'm looking for a small double (4ft, it's just me) and hadn't really thought about how much to spend, but I could probably stretch to a maximum of £1000 if I had to. Any more recommendations?

ToadOfSadness · 26/05/2018 17:24

About £700 and it is a small double. Most comfortable one I have ever slept on (Hobbs from an independent shop so were able to get a reduction). Bed frame was extra and bought elsewhere.

FASH84 · 26/05/2018 17:28

Just over £1000 plus about £800 for the bed itself, my lovely lovely in laws paid for it as a moving in present. It's a super king as DH is 6'4 and I love it so much no more legs and elbows in my space no more stolen duvet or achey back, it's bliss

FASH84 · 26/05/2018 17:29

@morningtoncrescent62 try happy beds. We went into a couple of bed shops to try out mattresses and then bought the same spec from them for half the price of dreams etc.

4yoniD · 26/05/2018 17:32

£600 last week 😀 on a Myers sprung. My last Myers cost similar (bit less) about 8-9 years ago. I must admit I slightly preferred a £1000 one but couldn't justify the extra money.

happytobemrsg · 26/05/2018 17:33

About £1500 I think. I have a tempur cloud. Best thing in the world

Kenworthington · 26/05/2018 17:33

Hmm not sure about £1000 maybe

Ohcomeonn · 26/05/2018 17:35

I think ours retailed at £1k, we got it for £800 as we bought a bed frame too. I'm glad we splashed out, it's amazing plus there's no way we could afford that now.
