Royal wedding outfits (because they are the best bit!)

Without being bitchy about actual physical attributes, who looked great and who didn't quite make the grade?

I thought the bride's mother's outfit was lovely. Amal Clooney's yellow dress looked fab. Pippa Middleton's dress was v pretty. I liked Victoria beckham's too. Some lovely hats here:

But Eugenie and Beatrice bless them both seem to have gone for quite unflattering dresses in my personal opinion. They are young, slim, pretty, have lovely shiny hair and have an unlimited budget - how do they manage to get the dresses wrong?!

Not had to dress an hourglass. She needs a knee length pencil skirt, heels, mid forearm length sleeves and a scoop /slash neck. Bright colours, not pale.

High colours and short sleeves are a disaster.

halfwitpicker · 19/05/2018 18:26

Not hard to dress, sorry

halfwitpicker · 19/05/2018 18:27

High collars, not colours!

I need to go back to bed

WickedLazy · 19/05/2018 18:34

Eugenie and Beatrice would both suit something, like the woman in the middle of the photo, of the polka dot wearing timeless actress, is wearing. In the colours they wore today.

viques · 19/05/2018 18:34

I liked Pippas dress, I couldn't work out why, then I realised it reminded me of my bedroom wallpaper, which I love!

Youngest York girl looked lovely, the older one looked as though she was wearing the wrappers off a quality street chocolate. sorry, can never remember which is which. Fergie looked smart too, she has got good legs!

YoloSwaggins · 19/05/2018 18:34

Designers don't need to "dress" Beatrice and Eugenie, they can walk into Harrods with an unlimited budget - and that's the best the could find?

Slartybartfast · 19/05/2018 18:35

James Blunt's wife,
George Clooney's wife
The actress from suits in the spotty outfit, the three of them walking along looked Impressive
Sarah Chatto, really slim and elegant.

Such a great dress!

Serena Williams looked fantastic. She is an hourglass.

I usually think that sportspeople don't look as good in normal clothes as when they are competing (with the exception of Paula Radcliffe but that's mainly because she looks about to drop dead when she is running) but Serena looked absolutely amazing.

Dandeliontea123 · 19/05/2018 18:42

Wicked I think that is Priyanka Chopra - and she is also an hourglass.

WeWere0nABreak · 19/05/2018 18:42

The kitty spencer green floral one is D&G I think

I liked Summer Phillips dress ,she is always very elegant and appropriate, and thought Zara Phillips looked amazing, was worried she was about to pop though! I bet those choir stalls were a bit hard going, I noticed the queen and Prince Phillip got cushions, I hope Zara did too.

decena · 19/05/2018 18:46

Tom Hardy has a shaved head as he is filming as Al Capone - he isn't bald! Looked very dapper in his suit though. His wife looked nice in a flowery dress.
Posh just looks so sour ALL the time, boring dress.

Genderwitched · 19/05/2018 18:47

I agree, she always has lovely clothes. She was my favorite, along with James Blunt's wife, the Suits actress in polka dots and Serena Wiliams. Ooh and Oprah. There were far more nice outfits than usual.

mummabearfoyrbabybears · 19/05/2018 18:51

Definitely Amal Clooney was the best dressed guess there for me. I love VB but thought she looked rather too 'funeral' than wedding today. I also though the princesses Beatrice and Eugenie played it safe but I liked what they wore.

mummabearfoyrbabybears · 19/05/2018 18:53

Did anyone else feel Meghan mum should have been front row and not second? My only complaint really.

catherinedevalois · 19/05/2018 18:53

Ooh I didn't see Sarah Chatto, I wondered if she was there. The only outfit I thought was not good was someone in a black netting type skirt of different lengths, looked like the bottom half of a witch's fancy dress. Don't know who she was, only caught a glimpse. Best for me were Doria and Serena. The Queen - brilliant in her usual neon and Princess Anne, love her, a unique look as always.

Choccywoccyhooha · 19/05/2018 18:55

Abigail Leigh Spencer soon the day for me. Such a beautiful dress with a nod to 1940s-style vintage and a bit of Mary Poppins which seemed a genius touch from an American at a big British wedding. Doria Ragland, Serena Williams, and Zara Tindall all looked amazing too, and I'm going to go against the grain and say I liked Eugenie's 60s style dress. I was quite taken by just how much Viscount Severn looked like a young Harry.

catherinedevalois · 19/05/2018 18:55

I think front row were bridesmaids' mums incase of disaster. Probably there was going to be two seats for Mum and Dad but thought it better that it wasn't Mum and an empty place?

FluffySlipperSocks · 19/05/2018 18:59

I thought Autumn Philips, Princess Beatrice, Doria, Lady Kitty and the Countess of Wessex all looked lovely

morningconstitutional2017 · 19/05/2018 19:00

Many of the dresses were so dark that they could barely be seen in the church which was a shame.

Mrsmadevans · 19/05/2018 19:03

Kate looked lovely as did her mum and sister. The girls can do no wrong.
Eugenie & Bea looked awful , their outfits made them look huge .
Fergie was the belle of the ball imho she looked amazing bless her , poor thing you have to feel sorry for her.
I loved Dorias suit and l thought the Queen looked lovely , pity she forgot to smile.
Lady Louise was dressed too old for her age . Sophie Wessex looked very stylish though. Didn't like that purple governess outfit on Charles Spencers wife ,either . The flower girls and pages outfits were just gorgeous .
Princess Anne ....oh dear
The men are so lucky they all looked great imho.

mummabearfoyrbabybears · 19/05/2018 19:03

Maybe Catherine.

Mrsmadevans · 19/05/2018 19:05

Was Sarah Chatto in the blue hat and dress ? If so she looked very chic and elegant.

MontalbanoFan · 19/05/2018 19:12

Can I put in a word for Norma Major? I thought she looked lovely in her lemon outfit.
