Royal wedding outfits (because they are the best bit!)

Without being bitchy about actual physical attributes, who looked great and who didn't quite make the grade?

I thought the bride's mother's outfit was lovely. Amal Clooney's yellow dress looked fab. Pippa Middleton's dress was v pretty. I liked Victoria beckham's too. Some lovely hats here:

But Eugenie and Beatrice bless them both seem to have gone for quite unflattering dresses in my personal opinion. They are young, slim, pretty, have lovely shiny hair and have an unlimited budget - how do they manage to get the dresses wrong?!

Kitty Spencer was my winner. Beatrice and Eugenie just never get it quite right. Obviously I’m saying this coming from a place of perfection myself, but I think Beatrice often looks like she’s playing dress up in her mum’s clothes. The colour of her dress was perfect for her colouring, but the dress looked like it was wearing her!

Yes cleofatra! That's exactly what I thought but had no one to tell as DH doesn't watch Timeless with me.

She looked good but totally like she was in costume as opposed to attending a special event.

Sarah Rafferty looked amazing!

I'm loved Victoria Beckhams dress & many more. Yet again Eugenie & Beatrice got it wrong. Eugenie was very underdressed & Beatrice dress was very unflattering.
With all their money why can't the ever get it right?

Chloe Madeley looked awful with the strappy dress all shoulders and cleavage. She misjudged the type of occasion badly there, I thought.

@Fuckitbucket13 I have a theory that it's a confidence thing. They're princesses of the blood, they've been raised in the Royal family and know their places are secure. So they DGAF and take risks and wear whatever the hell they want. Kate hasn't been raised in the same circles so dresses very conservatively because she's terrified of putting a foot wrong.

Then again they could just have terrible/no taste! But their mother wore some shockers in the 80s and looks good now so perhaps the same will apply to them.

Beatrice and Eugenie both have quite large busts, which are admittedly harder to dress without looking either fat and frumpy or tarty. Still, a lower neckline would have improved both of them easily.

I wonder if they only looked at their reflections face on? I've done that myself with several outfits, and thought they looked fine on my heavy bust, only to see photos from other angles after the event and realise how unflattering they actually were 🤦‍♀️

Carey Mulligan's dress was beautiful! And Sarah Rafferty looked amazing.

I loved the dress of James Blunts wife Sofia and Carey Mulligen’s was stunning too. Similarily Joss Stone but like you all I was wowed by Amal Clooney. She stood out from the rest. Oprah’s outfit was really nice. Didnt I read that hers was a last minute change because of the original beige colour of her outfit? Anyway I think she looked lovely too.

I thought Edwards wife looked lovely as did Sarah Rafferty (Donna from suits)

I think the Queen looked immaculate, the outfit , hat were very well put together.
Beatrice and Eugenie both need decent stylists, and the princess royal did look like she was wearing a dressing gown!
Every one else apart from the lady wearing the frilly floral number (sitting with the family) looked lovely.

Oh another one who looked fantastic was Sarah Chatto - very chic!

Thought Amal outfit was nice, but not quie to the level others do. I hadn't realised how incredible slim and tall she is.

I thought Pippa's was way too old for her. And Eugenie's was very "head nurse". Didn't like Beatrice's either - they need to sack the stylist...

I also think that due to their bodyshape, and lack of public appeal, the best/popular designers won't dress Beatrice and Eugenie as they know their clothes won't be shown in the best light.

By their age though you think they would've learned what suits them or not.

I think I preferred Amal's dress style, but would have preferred a different colour.

I love Doria, wanted to give her a hug, she looked all alone.

See the mauve dress is nice but if it was bright purple she'd look amazing.. Not sure what the obsession is with ice-cream colours really

I agree with @RosinaAlmaviva on Beatrice and Eugenie, it is hard to dress an hourglass, so easy to look frumpy or too sexy. When there were pap shots of Beatrice a few years back, in her bikini, and everyone called her “fat” , I though it was so mean and wrong, because she had an amazing hourglass shape, tiny waist and tiny ankles, like her mother. The queen and Princess Margaret both had hourglass figures , but in an era when fashion favoured a tiny waist and a bosom.
