Royal wedding outfits (because they are the best bit!)

Without being bitchy about actual physical attributes, who looked great and who didn't quite make the grade?

I thought the bride's mother's outfit was lovely. Amal Clooney's yellow dress looked fab. Pippa Middleton's dress was v pretty. I liked Victoria beckham's too. Some lovely hats here:

But Eugenie and Beatrice bless them both seem to have gone for quite unflattering dresses in my personal opinion. They are young, slim, pretty, have lovely shiny hair and have an unlimited budget - how do they manage to get the dresses wrong?!

I think I saw Sarah Chatto in navy - elegant but plain. I think it was her. Agree she dresses well - her wedding dress was gorgeous.

Carol middleton has sensational figure but her outfits now...such a shame she cant branch out a bit. Pippa's I liked at a distance but very ordinary close up.

Stand outs for me where Amal although I liked the top half better than bottom, hat and veil were a sensation.

Kitty Spencer - WOWZERS what a knock out! Amazing outfit.

James Blunts wife I liked very much and I thought Victoria Spencer looked good in her green dress and hat...unusual but she carried it all off...

Doria...utter perfection, beautiful colours and enough detail on the coat to lift it up.

Eugenie in my opinion was going for a strange Jackie O outfit - however I thought Mum looked fabulous .

Beatrice and Eugenie need their colours done. They have creamy, auburn type skin tones, but wore cold shades of blue which didn't flatter them. If they change from now on you'll know they're on Mumsnet!

I’m still trying to find out the maker of the pink dress with bow sleeves, guest was walking behind James blunt and his wife. No one seems to know who she is !

They don't. they're young, they should be having fun with clothes, making mistakes and wearing what they like, not just what suits them best.

They don't have to make a living out of other people thinking they look their best, so they should wear something they enjoy.

Was there anybody from Meghan's old life in California at the wedding or was it all new friends celebrities.

Lady S is a very classy lady.

Lady Sarah is very lovely. That is very much her style of hat.

@eloisesparkle Sarah and Snowdon are first cousins of the PoW, Lady Helen is a second cousin. I didn't spot any second cousins, although the Dukes of Gloucester and Kent and Prince Michael (HM's first cousins) attended. No sign of Princess Alexandra but she's quite elderly now so maybe she was unwell. The Duchess of Kent was looking very frail too.

HRM and MOTB were in quite different shades of green.

I thought Beatrice and Eugenie chose the right colours for their colouring. I do wish they'd embrace their colouring more their hair colour is to die for!

I was a bit suprised that Pippa wore something so dowdy looking, as she's usually so fashionable. Maybe she wanted to keep a low profile and didn't want the worlds media on her like last time? Or maybe its because she's expecting?

I think Princess Alexandra was there. I read somewhere that none of the Kent and Gloucester next generation on down we're invited.

There was a thread on here a couple of days ago bemoaning the fact that Lady Amelia Windsor was not invited. She is Harry's third cousin.

Was there anybody from Meghan's old life in California at the wedding or was it all new friends celebrities.

I don't really see how you'd expect anyone to know this given that her California friends are unlikely to be famous and therefore are not easily recognised.

Also... even if she didn't it's not necessarily odd? When I got married I had two friends from my school years. That was it. I didn't invite lots of people I was close to at university or from previous jobs I'd had, even though we had once been close. That was because I've moved a lot and lost touch with some people and grown apart from others. And while we're still in touch and I still count them as friends, I wasn't close enough to them when I got married to invite them to my wedding. That's the nature of most people's lives - particularly if you're someone who has moved a lot!

Princess Alexander was sitting near Zara along the back row. The Kents and Gloucesters were maybe with the rabble, I didn't see them in the quire.

Was princess Michael of Kent there? I suppose they invited the people that are in their lives now.

She certainly was but left the racist brooch at home! She looked very nice as, to be fair, she's always been an attractive woman. Prince Michael looked quite frail and doddery though.

I was thinking the brooch (although I have seen far worse lamps and ornaments in a similar vein in a ME furniture store near me).

In reality there was only a few of the guests focused on. Only about 20 at a guess. @SirVixofVixHall I can't find a picture of the guest behind James Blunt

I’m disappointed that nobody has identified the mysterious woman in blue or tracked down that dress for @Andreapreece 😀. No idea I’m afraid.
