Royal wedding outfits (because they are the best bit!)

Without being bitchy about actual physical attributes, who looked great and who didn't quite make the grade?

I thought the bride's mother's outfit was lovely. Amal Clooney's yellow dress looked fab. Pippa Middleton's dress was v pretty. I liked Victoria beckham's too. Some lovely hats here:

But Eugenie and Beatrice bless them both seem to have gone for quite unflattering dresses in my personal opinion. They are young, slim, pretty, have lovely shiny hair and have an unlimited budget - how do they manage to get the dresses wrong?!

Beatrice and Eugénie are not slim, and need good tailoring. Their mother has the same kind of figure and looked great.

They all looked lovely IMO (and i’m Not a royalist by any stretch!) but my favourite dress was actually Cressida’s!

I also think Kate made a really wise choice. She looked beautiful and elegant, but as it was something she'd worn previously, would have avoided pulling too much attention.

i loved Victoria, Charles Spencers ex, dress. Didn't really like her hat though, a fascinator would've looked better imo.
Sophie, Carole Middleton looked nice as did poor Zara. And Meghan's mum.
Pippa M ;looked Ok, shape was a bit old for her, would've looked nicer with a v neck and maybe shorter sleeves. Also liked Carey Mulligan.
Beatrice - nice dress but odd headgear. Eugenie looked like a '60's flight attendant. Dress didn't suit her shape at all.

Kitty Spencer's outfit was stunning obliged Amal's too but George looked awful. Camilla and Fergie looked great unloved Camillas hat.

I don't like Amal Clooney's dress at all, I'm a bit baffled by the general love for it. I prefer all the floaty dresses in spring colours that were worn (I have no clue about fashion though).

Thought they all looked fantastic, especially Amal. The only outfit I didn’t like was Idris’ girlfriend’s, not at all weddingy.

There was a young girl from Nottingham Academy with her teacher interviewed before the wedding. They were invited as guests by Meghan apparently. Both of them looked just as stunning as all the celebs and royalty, and in fact I thought the young girl - I think she was about 13 / 14 was absolutely beautifully dressed in a reddish / purple dress and hat which really suited her skin colour. Anyone else see her.
Beautiful. Teacher in a burgundy kind of skater style dress which again suited her perfectly.

I didn't like Amal's dress either , the waist was awful with the pintucks , l actually thought she looked a bit cumbersome lolloping from side to side clinging to his arm because of her stupid heels.
Also did not like Idris' GF dress it made her legs look awful

happyinherts yes I recall them, because of the reason you said. Plus I thought how incredibly well and confident the young girl spoke. (And, more shallowly, because she was strikingly pretty.)

No one else has mentioned them. Whoever styled the girl got it spot on. If I were her Mum, I'd have been over the moon proud. Delightful girl.

There were some stunning outfits but also for me there were some complete horrors...

Loved Amal Clooney's, I think it's because she just has presence and can carry off that sort of thing.

James Blunt's wife. Loved it. The way her hair looked at the back too, so elegant

Sophie Wessex always carries off a royal look, she looked great. And her daughter too

Thought Oprah looked awful, she is so big up top and the dress was so so tight
Bea and Eugenie, how can they get it so wrong? Bea has a tiny waist, why wear such a horror of a dress, it was vile. Eugenie looked short squat and boxy, embrace your curves girl!
VictoriaB. She looked so miserable, it's so tedious she looks fed up all the time. Ghastly overwhelming funereal outfit, hated the clip thing at the neckline. Compare her misery to Amal's happy laughing face and sunny colours and really VB needs to stop this gliding round lookinng like she doesn't want to be there.

Didn't like Chelsy Davy's outfit, too short and not flattering.

So who was the woman in the orange satiny cape dress that arrived at a similar time to Scotty from Suits in the polka dots and Priyanka Chopra?
I really want to see that dress again because I thought it was amazing.

There seemed to be a few themes yesterday, pastel, bold and flowery. I think the pastels won out.

Amal Clooney looked amazing, but I felt it was a bit too yellow. For me, something wasn’t quite right about it. I know i’ve contradicted myself, ie. looks great but something wrong. Too bold?

Earls Spencer’s wife looked great.

Oprah - loved the colour and the style, but too tight.

Serena - looked great.

Didn’t like Cressida or Gina’s - looked too casual for me. Also, in the early shots when Earl Spencer and his wife were arriving, did I see a dress with zebras on it on a lady just behind the Spencer’s.

Meghan best friend in blue looked lovely, as did her (?) twin pageboy boys.

Amongst the men, David Beckham looked great, as did James Blunt.

Another outfit I liked was someone who arrived around the same time as the Spencer’s with a Call the Outfit outfit/1940s look. Not sure who she was.

I didn't like the polka dot suits actress outfit. I thought she looked so thin and the dress style was so old fashioned.

Also hated VictoriaB's shoes, so high her arches were nearly bent double.

@SirVixofVixHall There were some fairly unsavoury rumours about Charles Spencer around the time of his divorce - that he's cheated and was emotionally abusive. There was also pressure on Victoria to give him an heir (much like what happened with his parents) and I think she had 4 kids in 4 years. She's always looked haunted to me.

I’m clearly in the minority as I don’t feel the love for Amal Clooney’s outfit. I thought the colour didn’t suit her, and the dress was for someone shorter, the waistband was up on her ribs, yet looked as though it was shaped to be on the actual waist. I love yellow , but I didn’t like it, apart from the tiny sequin glimmer on the hat.
Kitty Spencer’s outfit was my favourite, although there were quite a few others who looked beautiful, and in general the older women looked better than the younger ones, which was cheering !

happy I thought that young girl looked beautiful too, as did a lady in a sari who was interviewed.

I also am not a fan of Amal Clooney's. In fact, when she first appeared, because she is such a spectacular woman, it looks great but if you go back and look at pictures, its pretty ordinary as a dress.

I think Amal (is she Cloony?) would have looked better with lower heels.
