To think transgender women really have no idea what being a women is ? . Maybe it's time we had a 3rd Gender . Be interested in hearing what real women & transwomen feel ?

Pratchet wonderful post!

MyRelationshipIsWeird · 16/05/2018 22:55

@GladAllOver

While I agree with your points:

"A person with a penis cannot be a woman.
A person with a penis is a man.
A man with his penis removed is a transwoman."

bear in mind that between 80% and 90% of trans"women" still have a penis.

TERFragetteCity · 16/05/2018 22:56

All I can say is that I'm glad you're losing this battle. I'm glad the real world, outside of this site, is moving towards full endorsement of trans rights. I'm glad that in 20 years time the transphobia of today will be viewed the same way we now look at Jim Crow laws, apartheid, section 28, etc. I'm glad I'm part of the movement towards equality

Is this about the time all the kids being sterilised start suing teachers, doctors, parents for sterilising them or keeping them in permanent states of pre-puberty forever? Yay for equality. Shake your pompoms.

Snoophizzle · 16/05/2018 22:56

Gender is bullshit, there’s two sexes, you cannot switch between them, you can be a male who likes the things traditionally seen as female, but your still a man and the same for women.

OrderMeAnotherCurry · 16/05/2018 22:56

Transwomen are real women.

I am way too sober for this shit.

Fresta · 16/05/2018 22:56

Anyone watching the documentary on at the moment "what makes a woman?' on channel four. This program is sooo biased! It's not a debate at all!

AnnieLou1970 · 16/05/2018 22:58

Fresta - I was going to watch it but couldn't. It should have been titled What makes a transwoman. How can a man going through a transition know anything about being a woman? I saw a clip and his focus was on appearance - swishy long hair etc. Just bullshit. Nothing to do with any woman I know.

Strongmummy · 16/05/2018 22:58

I’m a woman and it really really REALLY doesn’t hurt me that trans women are women.

There is far more evidence that trans women get attacked in changing rooms.

On the basis that as a woman I’ve not experienced trans women infringing on my rights in any way shape or form I’m genuinely interested to know. I really can’t be arsed to trawl through a load of MN threads, but if you don’t want to explain then fair enough

ghostyslovesheets · 16/05/2018 22:58

I am way too sober for this shit

I'm pissed and it's still bollox

Pratchet · 16/05/2018 22:59

Oh it's quite beneath people like California to engage. They are frightfully lofty, while we have to deal with the realities of real women suffering as a result of their rights being eroded by transgenderism.

No way they are not women, the clue is
In the name - trans women.

ghostyslovesheets · 16/05/2018 23:00

There is far more evidence that trans women get attacked in changing rooms - links

Example - I worked for rape crisis for years - a service run by women for women - would you like a man in a dress answering the phone when you finally feel able to talk about your abuse at the hands of MEN?

Pratchet · 16/05/2018 23:00

'My fridge is full so I really don't see why other people are hungry'

ObiJuanKenobi · 16/05/2018 23:00

I meant that to read 'no way, they are not women'

Not

there is no way that they aren't women.

missymayhemsmum · 16/05/2018 23:01

Transwomen are people.
Roll on the day when gender is the least important thing about anyone and is a private matter.

I like the idea of a third gender, suggest categories of M, F and MYOFB?

CornishMaid1 · 16/05/2018 23:02

@designedforlife

That's a very harsh view. So if you haven't had a period of given birth you are not a woman?!

I know women who have chosen not to have children - since they haven't given birth do you think they are not women?

I have a friend with a condition that means she has never had a period and she cannot have children - she doesn't fit either so is she not a woman?

What about women who have had hysterectomies etc?

You cannot define being a woman so simply.

ConfessionsOfTeenageDramaQueen · 16/05/2018 23:03

Transcats are real cats! I feel like a cat. I was born a cat in a human body. When I put on my cat ears and tail I'm a cat. Don't mis-mammal me.

Pratchet · 16/05/2018 23:03

Cornish: sex is defined by reproductive role, not reproductive ability.

ghostyslovesheets · 16/05/2018 23:03

Roll on the day when gender is the least important thing

yes - smash the patriarchy !

Pratchet · 16/05/2018 23:05

Missy: you are getting gender mixed up with sex.

Yes it would be nice if women weren't discriminated against and attacked because of their sex. However while it continues, you can hardly blame us for noticing.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 16/05/2018 23:05

How can a trans women be a real women when they can’t change their sex

They can change body parts but that’s about it

They will not have periods go through the menopause become pregnant and so on and that’s before we get to the other issues of how girls are conditioned and sexualised differently to boys

AnxiousPeg · 16/05/2018 23:05

stringmummy
I can't really be bothered to explain. But that might be because I expect you already know.

If you genuinely don't, just pop over to Feminism Chat. It is all there in black and white for you.

Ask yourself this: why would swathes of normal, often quite left-leaning women randomly decide to "hate" or "fear" a group of non-gender-conforming people - you know, if this group's agenda and its implications didn't threaten women? (Clue: we wouldn't.)

Pratchet · 16/05/2018 23:05

Well QUITE ghosty!

siwel123 · 16/05/2018 23:06

A transwomen is still a man.
Regardless feelings you still have a male body part so sorry to offend but that makes you male.
I'm a male and it enraged me that men think they have a right to be in private women's spaces when still a man.
