I heard brainstorm then green needle.

Yeah, I move between brainstorm and needle much more easily than I can between yanny and Laurel

The odd thing about yanny/laurel is there is no way I can hear laurel. Also dh and dd2 heard a mans voice and dd1 and I a woman's!

It is most definitely Yanny. There is no L sound at the start.

I hear different things on different devices.
It was Yanny on my iPad and laptop but definitely Laurel on my phone.

OK, I've just tried saying 'yanny' out loud to myself in a nasally voice in an attempt to make myself hear yanny instead of laurel, and now when I play the vid I can hear yanny!

I thought the yanny thing was definitely reported to be a recording studio laurel (I hear yanny though!)

I can only hear laurel I tried to hear yanny but can't.

My 5 year old hears laurel. I played it to my 2 year old and he said 'yanny' without prompt.

I hear yanny.

I'm mid 50's with tinnitus & hear Yanny.

But with headphones I hear Laurel-in a deeper tone!

It's so strange. I've was listening with my DD and head laurel. Then we listened to another and a heard yanny. But DD and DH still heard laurel! And I couldn't hear laurel at all anymore. The brain is so weird!

It is apparently to do with the frequency with which you hear it. There are a few things that could affect this, but age is probably a factor. I am 31 and hear Yanny.

Clearly people had already read this. That will teach me for not reading the full thread!

On the brainstorm/green needle one I only ever hear brainstorm no matter how many times I listen to it

What is this 'green needle' that a couple of posters have mentioned?

If you had asked me this morning I would have said Laurel if you can hear any hint of yanny you're barking but this evening all I can her is yanny.

I hear Laurel but all my dc hear Yanny, My youngest has just used his tablet to record from my pc and on the recording it is Yanny!
