AIBU to think that anyone who hears Laurel is playing a practical joke? It's definitely yanny!

Ooh weird. Laurel for me. Clear as a bell. How are people hearing Yanny?

daffodillament · 17/05/2018 17:55

How funny. But it is Yanni/Yammi for sure.

Cindie943811A · 17/05/2018 17:58

I heard Laurel first time I listened on my tablet. An hour later on BBC Radio 4 I heard Yally — not Yanny.

HildaZelda · 17/05/2018 17:59

100% Laurel. I can't figure out how anyone can hear Yanny?

Violetparis · 17/05/2018 18:02

Try mouthing the words Yanny or Laurel while listening to it, I hear whatever I'm mouthing.

sarcasmisnotthelowestformofwit · 17/05/2018 18:02

Laurel. Can clearly hear the two Ls.

I heard Laurel, and according to OnePulse, that's the correct answer.
My DP heard Yanny and still refuses to accept it's Laurel Grin

Ginburee · 17/05/2018 18:03

Both answers are correct. Both names are recorded one on top of the other. Which you hear depends on whether you hear high or low frequencies.

goodmombadvillain · 17/05/2018 18:05

I don't hear either. Even knowing the two options, I hear something else entirely.

PinkBassoon · 17/05/2018 18:06

Yesterday morning I heard Laurel.
In the evening I heard Yanny, but dh heard Laurel.
This morning I heard Laurel again, while two dc heard Yanny, one dc heard Laurel and Dh heard Yanny!

Craziness!

OrangePeels · 17/05/2018 18:06

I could only hear Laurel then I tried it on a different device and heard “yammy” rather than yanny.
