AIBU to think that anyone who hears Laurel is playing a practical joke? It's definitely yanny!

It’s bizarre how there’s no hint of the other

I hear Laurel most of the time but have heard Yanny a few times! My partner can only hear Yanny. Actually he thought it was yearly as I didn't tell him the words beforehand so he might be getting something in between!

i see mint and grey shoe dp sees pink and white as does dd but 5 year old ds sees mint and grey like me

I've listened to it various times over the past few days. At first I heard Yelly and now I can just hear Lauren.

I can hear both - it’s like they are played over each other

Initially I heard Yanny every time but this morning I can hear both and switch between the two! Verdict of everyone else here is
DH: Laurel
DS1: Laurel
DD: Yanny
DS2: Yanny

Heard Laurel and nothing but.

Then did it again a while later with the phone facing away from me. Heard Yanny. Freaked out.

Then it went back to Laurel.

This just came up on my Facebook, and I heard laurel. Clicked the link to listen to the one posted here and heard yanny both clear as day! Now I can only hear laurel on both

Completely Yanny. I cannot even begin to work out how people are hearing 'Laurel'.

I hear Laurel in a man's voice and DH and a female colleague hear Yanni in a woman's voice

PC- Yammy and nothing else

Smartphone- Laurel and nothing else.

Clearly my audio settings on each one are very different.

If you listen to this 10 times you will summon up the YannyLaurel who will make your life a living hell.

I can hear Yanny and nothing but Yanny. I am listening out so hard for Laurel and can't hear it at all. I have heard that explanation so I have hear Laurel in that low tone when it's separated out so I know what to listen out for, but I still can't hear it on the original. Yanny!

Funnily with the black and blue dress, the first few times I saw it, it was only white and gold, I just could not figure out how it could possibly be black and blue. Then on the telly after a couple of days I saw it as black and blue and then after that I couldn't see it as white and gold any more and even now if I Google it with all the different lightings and picture adjustments I cant see it as white and gold!

We are killing ourselves her at work. I've played the link with the different frequencies. I start off hearing Laurel but then it changes to Yanny. My colleague can only hear Yanny. As the frequencies change she can eventually hear Laurel. But the point at which that changes is completely different to the point at which what I hear changes.
The brain is an interesting piece of kit!

I hear Yanny everywhere..even with the pitch decreased. My youngest 2 heard laurel, the old ears theory isn’t right.

And we are both the same age (49/50)
