What a mess. The poor girl.

OP posts:
Ohmydayslove · 15/05/2018 23:04

the whole thing is s car crash

Pretty distasteful don’t you think?

It will be a loveky wedding and I wish them well.

Ohmydayslove · 15/05/2018 23:06

Beesarmy

Trash??? You say you are American? What a shame you can’t support another American woman. Wonder why Hmm

Rollonweekend · 15/05/2018 23:08

i remember at the engagement interview MM was being really enthusiastic and excited and Harry was slightly giving her the side-eye...at the time I though he was thinking.."you don't know what you may need to deal with" ref the tabloid press.

I hope they an survive this. Most of us couldn't.

Crispbutty · 15/05/2018 23:13

I think most of the public could see this sort of thing happening. I can’t understand why they didn’t just have a low key private wedding then all the dirty linen would be being aired all over the media.

Crispbutty · 15/05/2018 23:13

Arggghh. Wouldn’t be being aired

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 15/05/2018 23:18

Most of the public really, really don't care. The hardcore MM haters from the DM and so on only represent themselves.

It a royal wedding, and people like that sort of thing. Most people are vaguely aware that MM's father may or may not show. That's it. No dramas. No circus. It's all in the little, toxic heads of DM readers that the country is obsessed in the same way they are.

ProudAunty2nine · 15/05/2018 23:30

Not coming now because he is having heart surgery now. if only he had used that excuse in the beginning people would have offered more sympathy and support for both him and his daughter, sadly we have heard so many stories in the run up to this wedding that I for one believe nothing!

I am wondering if they know this is real life that the royal family are real and that none of it is a Hollywood movie because it seems like they are rewriting the script every day hoping for their very own duh duhs at the end of each episode to get us to tune in again tomorrow. It obvious she is acting the role and we will never know if she is being genuine or a character she thinks she should be.

I also feel that once we loose the Queen the RF will fade away, the thing with the Queen is she keeps her own counsel she does have some mystique about her and I think she deserves the respect she receives sadly I do not think the same about the PoW we know far too much about him and what he thinks and wants.

R2G · 15/05/2018 23:33

@pasturesgreen
I commented because I think it is ridiculous that people are truly concerned about her father coming or not. It has no impact on their lives. She has issued a statement asking for privacy on the matter so I care to comment because I think people shouldn't really care about this (other than those involved), and don't need a blow by blow account of her family difficulties. It's odd and those who say they have empathy- if they truly did- would respect her wishes and not indulge in gutter press gossip and partake in spreading it. Very seedy behaviour.

Dinnerisburnt · 15/05/2018 23:42

Jeremy Kyle could resolve this mess.

R2G · 16/05/2018 15:44

@luisa27
See above! Where is the empathy in starting a thread to spread gutter press gossip when the lady in question has requested privacy for a private family matter?

R2G · 16/05/2018 15:52

I actually think you should all be ashamed of yourselves. Think about what happened to Diana. Demand governs supply.

GladAllOver · 16/05/2018 16:08

Quite right R2G.
It's the gutter press who keep stirring all this up. The couple and their families should have been left to organise the wedding in privacy.

FizzyGreenWater · 16/05/2018 16:11

Let's get back to MR MARLE

He would do a good job I reckon.

AIBU to start another thread?

'Silas Marner to walk Meghan down the aisle'

FizzyGreenWater · 16/05/2018 16:12

THE MYSTERIOUS MR MARLE

Who is this hooded man? - and WHY is he at the wedding of the year?

lanbury · 16/05/2018 16:16

What a shame they hadn't kept the whole thing a private do instead of this public charade.

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 16/05/2018 16:17

Jeremy Kyle could resolve this mess

There's no mess. Only to the obsessives who shriek 'IT'S A CIRCUS LOLOLOLOL' every five minutes because they seem unable to handle...anything.

In the real world, it's not a biggie.

Jeremy Kyle could, however, start with the little group of bullies that live on these MM threads. They seem in need of the most immediate help.

SusannahL · 16/05/2018 16:19

So, the heart attack is a fake? Just how low can this ghastly family sink?

Honestly, what IS Harry thinking. Did he have any idea what they were like when he proposed? This is the family background of his soon to be wife. Ye gods.

GladAllOver · 16/05/2018 16:19

What a shame they hadn't kept the whole thing a private do instead of this public charade.
Do you really think they invited the Fail to speculate daily on whether her father would come or not?

The80sweregreat · 16/05/2018 16:29

I’ve not read anywhere he has faked a heart condition! What I did read is he is having an op today in Mexico. Brought on by stress is the general consensus. Her mum is over here now.

lanbury · 16/05/2018 16:30

No, I mean they (the couple) should spare us the details and the public purse strings and keep their wedding to themselves. Good luck to them but the whole farce is just embarrassing now.

GladAllOver · 16/05/2018 16:37

It's not the couple shoving the details at you. It's the gutter press making a big deal out of it.

SusannahL · 16/05/2018 16:38

The trouble is the mum is no better. Apparently she has done a deal with Oprah for after the wedding. How much will she get for that I wonder?

The family are hideous.

Valanice1989 · 16/05/2018 16:49

I'm not a royalist but I have nothing against Harry and Meghan on a personal level. One thing this story has taught me is how many people would break up with someone because of their family background. I've heard so many comments along the lines of "What is Harry playing at, getting involved with someone with a family like that?" I suppose it shouldn't shock me - my own grandmother was furious when my mum started seeing my dad, whose family is not unlike Meghan's. I just naively believed society had moved past all of that.

percheron67 · 16/05/2018 17:02

Not all people who feel negatively about this shambles of a wedding read the Daily Mail! Just thought I would point out that readers of lefty papers have unfavourable points to make too. The melee this is turning into is obvious to anyone who does not want the country to become a laughing stock. We have a great tradition of ceremony in these islands and, only since Hollywood types have been involved, has it turned into a farce. I do feel very sorry for the Queen - she must have her head in her hands, wondering what else can go wrong.

lanbury · 16/05/2018 17:07

Yes exactly! Haven't even opened a tabloid! Still sounds like a shambles and an expensive one at that.
