Thank god my future wasn't decided by the complete mess my parents and grandparents made of things. I think many people learn from the mistakes of the generations before them, the royals probably more than most.

I think Harry had every opportunity to go and see her father, he's never met him. He should have made an effort imo.

perfectly, I’m sure some people do. But statistically we know that the more divorce is in a person’s background the more likely they are to divorce themselves. So the odds are against them. That doesn’t necessarily mean they’re making a mess of things either, it might well be because they’re less likely to put up with unsatisfactory relationships because they’ve seen that divorced parents can be successful and aren’t frightened of being alone.

With the amount of divorce in both their backgrounds, it would actually be an anomaly for them to stay together until death do they part.

60% of second marriages fail. The risk of divorce increases by 200% if both sets of parents divorced. Daughters of divorce have a 60% divorce rate.

If they were a horse, they’d have nags odds. It’s possible but not likely they will stay together.

But I still think that there are many people saying it won't last just to be negative and just copying others. There's nothing to be gained from it. I have heard people say they don't think it will last but not being able to give a reason for thinking it which just leaves me a bit Hmm. They just look so happy, so I prefer to just wish them happiness, not work out the odds of them lasting. They have both had parts of their lives which have been very sad or traumatic so I really hope they are happy together. I don't like the negativity.

Take away all the daily mail rubbish, all I have seen is a couple that look very much in love and happy. They both seem decent and kind people

Yep. Two people who have chosen each other and bring each other happiness. They want to share their lives and love.

I literally haven't anyone say anything negative out in the real world; everyone's pretty happy for them, as most normal people are when two people in love get married Smile

You have literally no idea about any of this, though, do you? None whatsoever.

I totally get people discussing royal wedding stuff, but just making things up in your own head and putting it out there for the usual suspects to crow over is a bit...odd? To me, anyway.
