To ban this man from my cafe?

Have NC as I've spoken to people in RL about this.

I promise I'm not the poo troll.

There's a man that's been coming in to my cafe every morning for a few weeks now.

He orders a coffee and sits doing work on his laptop at 8.30 when I open up.

Every FUCKING DAY he does a massive shit in the toilet and leaves a mess everywhere. It's utterly disgusting and I obviously have to deal with it. I'm normally there on my own as I don't get many customers at that time of day, but today a lovely woman was in with her baby and went to use the toilet after him.

She obviously didn't use it and I had to profusely apologise. He was the only other person there so it was obviously him. He could hear me talking to her and just sat there, not an ounce of embarrassment. I'm actually getting really anxious about this now and I don't know what to do. It's horrible. It's a horrible way to have to start my day, every day.

I want to ban him but I'm too "nice" and REALLY don't want the confrontation. It feels so awkward.

Help! I don't know what to do.

As a regular human being, I’d be massively put off if I visited the loo of a lovely little cafe and saw a passive aggressive sign asking me to clean up after myself if I make a mess.Confused

I really don’t need to know that people may have previously been making a mess in a loo I’m about to use.

Sorry OP I know that doesn’t help your problem. I think you’re going to have to say “sorry I’m afraid I’m going to have you to leave, sir” next time he comes in. Management reserve the right to refuse service and all that.

Hissy · 11/05/2018 11:29

What you needed to do was wait till the woman left or the next morning and then have a word that he left the toilet - again - in a disgusting state and that you will ban him in a heartbeat if there is any repetition of what he's done.

QuackPorridgeBacon · 11/05/2018 11:57

So he’s expected to clean any skids but is provided with nothing to do so? And only he is in the wrong? Ok then...

Narnia72 · 11/05/2018 12:03

Did he come in today OP?

rosieposies · 11/05/2018 12:25

Is he the only customer in at that time @op? If so I think you should start playing hard house techno rave music every morning through some speakers. E.g;

If you're feeling brave you could even start dancing maniacally whilst mopping the floor.

OrangeJam · 11/05/2018 16:46

@rosieposies hahaha I'd love to do that Grin

He didn't come in today!!! GrinGrinGrinGrin

Result! He's found a new coffee-wifi-shit location!

Monday go with broken wifi.

Tuesday go with broken coffee machine.

Retrain him to go elsewhere!

imweirdandcool · 11/05/2018 18:34

CoraPirbright · 11/05/2018 18:44

Thanks, will try and remember!

AntiHop · 12/05/2018 17:28

Op I saw an advert for something called a loo blade which is an alternative to a loo brush.

Notthatwomanagain · 13/05/2018 15:02

Here’s hoping he isn’t back tomorrow morning OP!

FrogFairy · 13/05/2018 15:50

Risking being called a poo troll as I have recommended this before, but this toilet cleaner could be wrapped with toilet paper to clean off the skid marks, has no bristles to get clogged and very easy to clean.

Change the WiFi password to “crapinyourownhouse”.

OrangeJam · 13/05/2018 17:19

Don't worry @FrogFairy I think everyone thinks that's me 😂

Thanks for the link though.

I've got a good feeling that he won't be in tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Maybe the loo being unavailable just once was enough to put him off. I just feel sorry for the next place he ends up in.
