I am not sure if it has changed but new developments had 'social infrastructure' included as part of the permit to develop. So the developers pile in and build the houses then 'oh dear we have run out of money' and the social infrastructure parts don't get built. Then, as the new residents have had to find their shopping/sports club/whatever elsewhere the developers come back and say 'look you don't need them' so can we build another fifty houses on the space previously allocated to the school/shop/gym.
Only 3 weeks to see a GP, try in Wales! 5 weeks just to see a nurse for a blood test, never mind the wait for the GP.

Is it for seasonal work, there was a job advertised recently, driving Min wage, had over 70 applications, I couldn’t believe it, do forget we still have million unemployed, Seasonal work is no good for people living here with mortgage or rent, stundents used to do it before loans

As already stated there is a shortage of British labour in some areas so even increasing wages isn’t going to attract a non existant labour force.

EU migrants have to be able to support themselves. You can't just move and do nothing. If they are moving and staying it is because they are filling jobs which aren't being filled by locals.

Some jobs will always attract low pay and people are unlikely to move great distances for them. Farming and hospitality being 2 examples.

ghost, unemployment is low but we’ve had a terrible period of wage stagnation which that could change because employers will have to offer more money to attract employees. Migration is needed, but targeted migration which addresses genuine need. Not a free for all which will prolong the stagnation by allowing employers to carry on paying low wages.

If every immigrant in the UK downed tools for one day, people would begin to realise the enormous contribution they make to the UK on a daily basis.
