Takeaway spending

How much do you spend per week of month on takeaways and how many do you have a month?

I'm thinking of cutting down to save money and wondered how much others spent/have..

£0. Living in the depths of the countryside means our nearest takeaway is a 45 minute round trip and no-one delivers here. We might sometimes have fish and chips if we're out for the day but I can't remember the last time we had a takeaway Chinese/Indian/pizza

we don't have takeaways - DD17 is a vegan and none guarantee their oil is uncontaminated etc.

We have them about twice a month. Not sure on how much we spend as it varies from place to place and we don't always get the same type/go to the same place. I.e. if we have dominos or Indian it might be more expensive than a kebab or fish and chips.

About once a month but for four adults it's over £30 for a Chinese. We also live 10 miles from nearest village with a takeaway.

Don’t realky have takeaways often, more likely to eat out and costs much more.

We were having two a month but have cut down to one (normally on payday) as part of pre-mat leave cut back. There's only the two of us for now, so that normally comes to about £20-£25. That's assuming you don't count a takeaway sandwich from Pret at a takeaway - if so, then again we've cut back on buying lunch a lot but still probably spend another £20-30 a month on that.

Once in a blue moon and then its from a pub that offers takeaway fish and chips.

We usually only get one a month, so about £20. But I have spent a lot more in the past! I love any excuse not to cook and would probably get more if we could afford it!

Nothing. We live somewhere nowhere delivers to. Took a while to get used to it after we moved but it’s saved us some cash.

Around £200. Friday night Chinese or curry is expensive for 6. We don’t smoke, drink or go out lots though so it’s all good.

Myself I probably have a dominos every 3 months with Dh but he will get himself and kids a chippy tea or Chinese so on average maybe £20 per month.
Before dc we would have 2-3 per week must have spent a fortune!

Very rarely, despite being surrounded by them. Usually we only bother if we're just back from holiday and have no food in.
If you'd asked me ten years ago I would have said once a week, but in reality it was probably two or three times a week Blush

Average month would be:

1 Dh and I only takeaway - £20
1 Whole family takeaway - £40
1 Dc only takeaway (pizza) - £15

So £75 a month. Throw in the odd take out coffee or sandwich/mcd's and I'd say about £100 a month on take out stuff in general.

Very rare for us - if we want a treat we get 'make your own' pizzas from Sainsburys which costs about £8 for the family. A few times a year we treat DS to a happy meal or ourselves to a kebab (£20 for all of us) but it's not a regular thing at all.

When we were both working full time long hours, before DC, we used to get pizza delivered every Friday then have brunch out on a Saturday while shopping. I could cheerfully kick myself when I think we were basically spending £1000 or so a year on stuff that should have been occasional treats.

Eek, more than most of here it seems! 3 a month, total cost approx. £60. We have small children and don’t eat out in the evenings now, so tend to tend to treat ourselves this way instead.

I should also say we always overbuy and have leftovers on purpose which dh and I eat the next day too.

Once a month at the most - spend about £20 - £30 depending on how many people, around £10 a head.

How much do you spend. OP?
Last night we had fish and chips by the seaside - the first takeaway in months. Personally I don't takeaways - mushy flavours and too much hidden fat. Fish and chips is different 😜

Usually nothing. Very occasional fish and chips. But I find takeaway food too heavy and I never feel good after it.

Do eat out quite a bit though.

An obscene amount. We have a wealth of amazing restaurants nearby on Deliveroo, and we have the Deliveroo equivalent of Amazon Prime Blush

I never get takeaways anymore. I view them as a total waste of money. Minimum spend for delivery is £15 where I am. I always think of what I could buy instead. Quite a few groceries in Aldi or Lidl. A posh lipstick. A new top. Taking the DC bowling. Plus I then don't have the greasy guilt the next day!
