to want a normal full fat fecking yogurt?!

Why is every bloody yogurt in the supermarket 'low fat' or 'zero fat' or 'lite' or '0%'. Or contains gellatine, added cream Hmm thickening agents or some other bollocks?!

I just want a normal fruit yogurt that is full fat (so high protein low sugars) without so much crap added, and that doesn't cost £2.75 a spoonful and have guava and the gold encrusted tears of vegans in the title.

Just a traditional old school flipping yogurt.

My nearest Waitrose is 30 miles away. Tesco are crap. Asda are crap. My local Sainsburys are crap. My Aldi ones had cream added!

I might brave M&S later but I'm pretty sure my last ones from there had cream added too, but they may have been the gooseberry fools Blush

Where can I get some? I long for the days of a basic small pot and a foil lid and a cow print on the tab.

Have you tried Skyr?

Efferlunt · 05/05/2018 15:23

Agree can’t stand low fat yoghurt packed with sugar. There must be a demand for it from people who’s diet advice is from the 80s. I get a big tub of plain normal yoghurt and jazz it up by adding a teaspoon of jam or lemon curd. Much healthier.

faceremovinghaircream · 05/05/2018 15:24

I get yeovalley organic for that reason, proper yogurt. I don't understand why so much food has to be messed with, it's getting ridiculous.

Branleuse · 05/05/2018 15:24

ive never had any problem getting greek yoghurt, thick and creamy yoghurts, normal activia yoghurts, fruit corners. Theyre all full fat.

megletthesecond · 05/05/2018 15:25

Yanbu.
I get the yeo valley organic ones too.

IveGotBillsTheyreMultiplying · 05/05/2018 15:25

Get a simple yoghurt maker, make with full fat milk, then add your own fruit.

noeffingidea · 05/05/2018 15:27

Yoghurt is by definition a low fat food, thats why it says 'low fat'on the container. Some are lower fat than others, just check the list of ingredients.

Applesandpears23 · 05/05/2018 15:27

YANBU - we’ve started buying the big tubs of plain yoghurt and adding things to it at home.

RomeoBunny · 05/05/2018 15:28

Branleuse they're also packed with sugar. I don't want plain greek yogurt. I dont want to make my own. I dont want any of the activia bollocks either.

I want an old school blackcurrant yogurt like we used to get as kids. Just 'proper' fruit yogurt.

I got so sick of it I make my own.

Not all the time but every now and then and a big batch (a litre or 2) costs little more than the litre of milk.

So so easy and yum

LunaDeet · 05/05/2018 15:28

Buy a Yeo Valley and make a new batch of your own from that with full fat milk. Or just keep on with those delicious gooseberry fools Smile

IveGotBillsTheyreMultiplying · 05/05/2018 15:29

Ok so you don't want to make your own Grin

YesILikeItToo · 05/05/2018 15:29

YANBU. I want them too.

RomeoBunny · 05/05/2018 15:29

@noeffingidea No, it's not. Yogurt from full fat milk is full fat yogurt and is higher in protein and lower in sugars. A yogurt should just contain yogurt and fruit. No other added junk apart from maybe a stabiliser.

RomeoBunny · 05/05/2018 15:30

For the recors I'd made my own. I do still make my own. I'm just bored to death of it. My instantpot now gives me yogurt making nightmares.

I like oykos ones. They are quite sweet though

WhatTimeIsItCuckoo · 05/05/2018 15:31

Yes I also get the Yeo Valley ones, the fruit ones and the natural, they do a Greek one too. Look out for a brand called Longley Farm too, I don't think many places stock it but their products are old school made with 'proper' ingredients, I recently discovered that our village shop sells their cottage cheese as I was sick of the low fat versions of that too.

dementedpixie · 05/05/2018 15:32

Liberté ones are less sweet

FrolickingForklift · 05/05/2018 15:32

There's a 29p one from Lidl which is full fat and tasty. Doesn't have the horrible fake sweet taste of low fat ones.

RomeoBunny · 05/05/2018 15:33

@WhatTimeIsItCuckoo I think it's those I want but can't find them anywhere :'( do they have the cow on the label?

Onken big pot yoghurts are good.

FASH84 · 05/05/2018 15:34

We get old fashioned yoghurts from the milkman, also like Yeo valley

NannyR · 05/05/2018 15:36

I can recommend longley farm brand too. They are full fat yoghurt, fruit and some sugar, really creamy and a bit tart - delicious. They are a Yorkshire company but I think they are available countrywide. I can get them at Morrison's.

AwkwardSquad · 05/05/2018 15:39

I was just about to recommend Longley Farm! They’re lovely. And they do a blackcurrant one.
