to want a normal full fat fecking yogurt?!

Why is every bloody yogurt in the supermarket 'low fat' or 'zero fat' or 'lite' or '0%'. Or contains gellatine, added cream Hmm thickening agents or some other bollocks?!

I just want a normal fruit yogurt that is full fat (so high protein low sugars) without so much crap added, and that doesn't cost £2.75 a spoonful and have guava and the gold encrusted tears of vegans in the title.

Just a traditional old school flipping yogurt.

My nearest Waitrose is 30 miles away. Tesco are crap. Asda are crap. My local Sainsburys are crap. My Aldi ones had cream added!

I might brave M&S later but I'm pretty sure my last ones from there had cream added too, but they may have been the gooseberry fools Blush

Where can I get some? I long for the days of a basic small pot and a foil lid and a cow print on the tab.

I can promise you that Longley Farm blackcurrant yogurt is what you want.

AwkwardSquad · 05/05/2018 15:40

And Longley Farm cottage cheese is the best.

IHaveBrilloHair · 05/05/2018 15:41

Muller quark yoghurt are surprisingly nice, not low fat and no artificial sweeteners

KingHenrysCodpiece · 05/05/2018 15:42

I stick to Yeo Valley. Nice assortnent of flavours, and usually in a 2 for £2.00 or 2.50 deal in Tescos. That or Onken

Lordamighty · 05/05/2018 15:42

I can second the Longley Farm cottage cheese- best by far.

Minniemarshmallows · 05/05/2018 15:43

Yes op, Sainsburys sell Longley Farm yoghurts...and it is the one with the cow on the front.

Celticlassie · 05/05/2018 15:44

I'm sure I've had full fat fruit yoghurt from Aldi. I think they've got added sugar though, which is annoying. Still prefer them to low fat yoghurt which are so watery. We got DD natural Yeo valley, which are full fat.

Notcontent · 05/05/2018 15:45

Yeo Valley is good must most fruit yoghurts are very sugary, so I prefer plain yoghurt and add my own fruit, and maybe a little bit of honey.

Longley Farm is the best :)

MrsJonesAndMe · 05/05/2018 15:47

Don't hold your breath on M&S - I bought a teeny strawberry yogurt there this week and it had 15g of sugar in it! I eat plain greek with fresh fruit in now.

BuntyII · 05/05/2018 15:47

Oh my God I didn't know Muller make a quark yoghurt, gross. That's just slimming world fodder.

bettys · 05/05/2018 15:50

The best blackcurrant yogurt although I like the black cherry

bettys · 05/05/2018 15:52

Actual I like all the Longley Farm yogurts and almost swooned when I came across a whole shelf of them in Booths

SaltyPeanut · 05/05/2018 15:52

I want a Ski yogurt circa 1985 or whenever it was when they used to have the little foot on the tub. I don't want none of the same shit you don't want OP because that's what it is, shit and teeth achingly sugary watery shit at that.

I just buy the one kg tubs of full fat plain onken, I eat it as is with nothing added.

Idontdowindows · 05/05/2018 15:52

You are not unreasonable and that is why I get my milk, yoghurt and as much dairy as I can straight from the farm.

IHaveBrilloHair · 05/05/2018 15:53

Really buntyll?
I have no idea about slimming world, I eat them because I like them, have never been on a diet and don't need to be either.
Hang on, I'll take a photo of the pot and ingredients.

TinklyLittleLaugh · 05/05/2018 15:53

There doesn't seem to be a single full fat yoghurt in our Aldi. It is massively annoying.

wowfudge · 05/05/2018 15:54

Longley Farm hazelnut is my all-time favourite yoghurt. I make my own yoghurt now in the Instant Pot.

NannyR · 05/05/2018 15:54

Just had a look at the longley farm yoghurt and they are quite high in sugar (although some of that will be the lactose in the yoghurt). As far as packaged yoghurt go though, they are fairly unprocessed with minimal added ingredients.

SimonBridges · 05/05/2018 15:54

Here are the ingredients to the Daylesford one I posted earlier:
NATURAL YOGHURT (77%) Whole Milk, Skimmed Milk Powder, Cultures. BLUEBERRY PUREE (23%) (Blueberries (14%), Sugar). Non organic.

Branleuse · 05/05/2018 15:55

well im in my 40s OP and all the "normal" yoghurts from when I was a kid were low fat. Ski etc. I think youre misremembering. Some sort of nostalgia for the good old days that never existed>

You dont want greek yoghurt, you dont want any of the brands I suggested that are full fat.

Ful fat yoghurts are available in every supermarket

Isntcoffeewonderful · 05/05/2018 15:56

I eat marks and Spencer’s whole fat Greek style yoghurt, and add fruit.
I use Ella’s kitchen fruit pureé pouches as an additive. One lasts me a week. Just fruit, no thickeners or added sugar.

I know you do t want to make your own any more, or make up your own with a Greek style yoghurt, but I think you have to be real.

Most yoghurts are made with thickeners and sugar, and reduced fat.

Mixing your own isn’t such a bad option if you want full fat high protein with natural fruit.
