to want a normal full fat fecking yogurt?!

Why is every bloody yogurt in the supermarket 'low fat' or 'zero fat' or 'lite' or '0%'. Or contains gellatine, added cream Hmm thickening agents or some other bollocks?!

I just want a normal fruit yogurt that is full fat (so high protein low sugars) without so much crap added, and that doesn't cost £2.75 a spoonful and have guava and the gold encrusted tears of vegans in the title.

Just a traditional old school flipping yogurt.

My nearest Waitrose is 30 miles away. Tesco are crap. Asda are crap. My local Sainsburys are crap. My Aldi ones had cream added!

I might brave M&S later but I'm pretty sure my last ones from there had cream added too, but they may have been the gooseberry fools Blush

Where can I get some? I long for the days of a basic small pot and a foil lid and a cow print on the tab.

Tim's yoghurt. ( Ocado)
I'll say no more.

mytittifersungtheirsong · 05/05/2018 17:40

Lemon turd 😂

Ariela · 05/05/2018 17:41

Same as everything now is zero (or low) sugar and stuffed full of Aspartame, which really is a disgusting sickly sweet flavour. If I want sweet I'd rather buy sweetened with sugar or fruit, not artificaial aspartame. If zero sugar why does it have to be sickly sweet? Lemon anything is never sharp enough to make your mouth water in anticipation of the sharp slightly sour flavour, because it's been added to with artificial sweetener. If I made it myself I wouldn't add sweetener.

I think make your own full fat youghurt is clearly the way to go

Carboholic · 05/05/2018 17:41

Buy normal full fat yoghurt, mash fruit into it?

hazell42 · 05/05/2018 17:46

The Collective.
Sounds like a Marxist-Leninist work party
Actually it's really thick, full fat yoghurt.
The passion fruit one is particularly yum.
But please leave some for me

Eolian · 05/05/2018 17:47

Total full fat and mix your own fruit etc in, or Longley Farm. I agree though OP - a ludicrous proportion of the yoghurt market is low-fat, sugary or artificially sweetened crap. I thought the message about low-fat being a load of bollocks had spread by now. Obviously not...

Snugglepiggy · 05/05/2018 17:48

I only buy large tubs of natural yoghurt now.Either Yeo or Rachels organic or Longley farm.I used to buy the luxury M and S ones as a treat but started to find them too sweet and hated all the thickeners etc. Then just chop in fresh fruit.Kiwi and banana usually.Or defrost a handful of frozen berries.Much nicer. And cheaper

egdehsdrawkcab · 05/05/2018 17:52

M&S

bruffin · 05/05/2018 17:55

I like Collective or make my own

RadioDorothy · 05/05/2018 17:58

I loooove the Collective yoghurts, they are to die for...unfortunately they used to make my gallbladder kick up terribly, and although I've since had the stupid thing removed I haven't tried the yoghurt since.

I have, however, developed a fondness for the Liberte blueberry one. I prefer thick, set yoghurt - hate the runny stuff. What happened to Danio, why did they stop making it, it was lush.

Snugglepiggy · 05/05/2018 18:07

Very sorry. M&S.

gigi556 · 05/05/2018 18:21

YANBU! We just eat natural yogurt but it's annoying when you want flavoured. I think yeo valley do full fat flavored yoghurts for babies but they come in small pots (wasteful packaging!!!) and they aren't in every supermarket. You can add strawberry jam (or what ever you fancy) to plain yoghurt. Also, if you are in the north I think Longley farm might make full fat flavoured yoghurts. ASDA stock them.

Low fat and non fat taste disgusting! Don't know how people can eat it...

megletthesecond · 05/05/2018 18:32

The collective passion fruit yoghurt is the king of yoghurts . I had a dreadful addiction to them a while ago.
Want one now Hmm.

goose1964 · 05/05/2018 18:44

Those in the glass jars were made by Nestle. My Grampy worked in the factory so he picked them up for next to nothing. I actually love the fact that most yogurt is low fat because I have gallbladder issues and fat makes me ill

ChocAuVin · 05/05/2018 18:46

YANBU! I frequently despair. Yeo Valley (plain Greek-style) and The Collective are about all I can ever find.

AndMyHeartKeepsMissingABeat · 05/05/2018 18:47

The Lidl full fat Greek yoghurt in the big tub is the best I’ve tried. I suppose it depends how much you eat but a previous poster’s idea of adding fruit pouches to plain yogurt is a good one.

Mari50 · 05/05/2018 18:53

The collective yoghurts are amazing. They do a straight up one which has nothing added at all.
They also do a great range with fruits- I love the raspberry and morello cherry, dd loves the mango.
We go through about three big tubs a week and dd has a little tub with her packed lunch.

cookiesaurus · 05/05/2018 19:12

I second Tim's dairy. I love these - they're so creamy!!

keeppassingtheopenwindows1 · 05/05/2018 19:32

Longley farm? They are my absolute favourites!

AwkwardSquad · 05/05/2018 19:32

I loved those French set yoghurts. Vanilla, lemon, strawberry and... what was the fourth flavour in those sets of four? Passion fruit?

I can get v posh versions from a local deli but they’re expensive, so an occasional treat.

Scabbersley · 05/05/2018 19:34

Lidl full fat Greek yogurt with a teaspoon of either lidl cherry jam or, and this is unbelievably delicious - waitrose Rose jam

Food of the gods

Scabbersley · 05/05/2018 19:36

Actually its plum and rose. I've served it as a pudding to guests with some raspberries chucked in

Boatsnack3 · 05/05/2018 19:49

Asda do French set yoghurt in a pack of 6 for £1. I think they are full fat but I'd imagine they contain a fair amount of sugar too.

RyvitaBrevis · 05/05/2018 19:57

YANBU - this drives me crazy. I spend so much time reading yogurt labels. Surely there is a market for full fat individual pots without loads of added sugar or aspartame!

TittyGolightly · 05/05/2018 19:59

You can get 10% fat Greek yogurt from Waitrose, M+S, Aldi, Lidl and Costco.
