I don't know about you, but since the instamums posts I have really noticed the #AD on posts, and to be honest I had no idea I was so gullible. I loved the threads regards instamums and really think MN made a small change, well done us

What if someone simply heard Father Of Daughters on the Radio as an author, and posted that they thought he sounded dreadful?

Well, I'm sure that would never happen as no doubt the book is just wonderful 😉. Plus no man would surely criticise this book based on the simple fact that......er.......another man wrote it. To do so would be unbrotherly and possibly compromise FOD's mental health.

I actually disagree with you marvelle. What is the point of posting anonymised screen shots that could well be taken out of context on social media? Why can't NB just follow the same reporting procedures as the rest of us plebs?

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 08/05/2018 18:22

Absolutely marvelle #yougo[sic]thismama

Glad to see the mind control is finally starting to work! Just keep looking at those flashing little squares.......

BeansandSausages · 08/05/2018 18:22

This may have been mentioned but NB didn't actually write that wording. Another ig account did and I don't think NB gave her credit (correct me if I'm wrong)

FrodoOwl · 08/05/2018 18:27

My husband did hear him on Radio 2 and as a father of that gender also thought he sounded like a prize ***. How very unbrotherly of him.

Bestbe · 08/05/2018 18:27

I think if I got the FOD book for my OH he would firstly question my sanity and secondly make statements which would be unsupportive of the ‘brotherhood’ and probably be thrown out.

MOD posted this earlier

Even if we were not able to discuss the many points raised on these threads, surely we would still be thinking them, so not being able to debate and discuss wouldn’t change that.
At least in discussion opinions and comments can be challenged and possibly changed.

Bestbe · 08/05/2018 18:31

In the spirit of sisterhood I would like to say how much I enjoyed Esther Walker ranting about Dayleford this weekend when they tried to charge her £52 for a mediocre bunch of flowers. Because sometimes brands are crap and and life isn't perfect.

jamoncrumpets · 08/05/2018 18:32

I agree with MOD's stance there, I completely disagree with bullying on SM.

RunMummyRun68 · 08/05/2018 18:32

But she's upset about getting DM's which criticise

Therightphalange · 08/05/2018 18:33

MOD has said on her stories that someone sent her a message that she looked like 'a sack of potatoes' in a specific dress she had been wearing.

Now that to me is what 'trolling' is. And if Clemmie continued to receive messages like that, then that is 'bullying'. It's unnecessary, nasty, personal and has no other point at all. There is no 'wider message' in a post like that.

I have not seen posts like this about any Instagrammers on MN? And if someone did write that, then I'm pretty sure they would be deleted. So what is with all the 'MNetters are bullies and trolls' stuff?

@jamoncrumpets YES. Totally.

timetogetanewfence · 08/05/2018 18:35

@Therightphalange there have been posts like that, about her, about her kids, in the past. Some deleted. I just think someone who does that in DMs or on here, is a sad sack of potatoes themselves, tbh, and it's just downright mean.

CadyHeron · 08/05/2018 18:38

Genuine question time again! People saying "they should report like us, like the rest of us plebs!"
Can you actually do that? I mean,if you don't have a MN account, can you report posts as a non member or are you just at you can read the posts but that's it level?
I've been here that long I've totally forgotten or indeed even if I knew in the first place!
Might not just be as easy to report via here if that is the case.I mean, if you create an account just to report posts but don't engage, surely that'd stick out to mods that you might not be a "genuine" poster?

Therightphalange · 08/05/2018 18:39

Well admittedly I haven't seen every thread about MOD on MN ever, but I hadn't seen stuff like that (apart from the 'wanker' comment, which I believe was deleted Smile)

Hard to imagine what anyone could say about the kids, they are beautiful and seem lovely!

NovichoksAway · 08/05/2018 18:43

You can create an account to report posts, sure. Plenty of people lurk and don't post I think?

I haven't seen any posts like that about her children or her appearance, other than flattering ones. Anything like that would be deleted of course as it's quite clearly a personal attack. Who DM's stuff like that??

timetogetanewfence · 08/05/2018 18:46

@Therightphalange someone once said that they looked boring, and then went on to go after another friend of hers, another 'Instamum', and said that her kids looked boring and 'why is she, or they, even on Instagram with that many followers'. That, to me, was below the belt. Someone did that to me once, and you can imagine how I felt. Any mother would feel the same.

MediocrePenguin · 08/05/2018 18:46

It is mean. It's not nice at all. I totally agree that some people take it too far and get personal and that must hurt.

However I do also believe that is the downside of the internet and being 'famous'. The bigger you become, the worse it gets and that's unfortunately what you sign up for.

Just take James Cordon for example!!

Hang on, I think it went further than boring tho, something about their looks. Anyway, I think kids are off limits, regardless of how you 'put them out there'. I think if you choose to comments on their kids' looks, or what they act like, it feels below the belt.
