I don't know about you, but since the instamums posts I have really noticed the #AD on posts, and to be honest I had no idea I was so gullible. I loved the threads regards instamums and really think MN made a small change, well done us

How do kids look boring Confused? I find looking at other people's kids boring tbh. Plenty of kids on IG look bored as well. The twins are pretty lovely though. I can see why people like looking at them as they are extremely cute.

Bestbe · 08/05/2018 18:51

Marvelle it was HELL.
If someone has said that to MOD about looking like a sack of potatoes then that's awful. And although it shouldn't be it is the reality of having an online presence even if that is quite minor. The only way to tackle it is to hide your account. It really is a shame that trolling exists. This is why my children don't have any online accounts and I hope they won't until they are adults.

CadyHeron · 08/05/2018 19:04

You can create an account to report posts, sure. Plenty of people lurk and don't post I think?

So you do then have to create an account in order to report anything in the first place?
Some people for any reason might not want to create an account on here.
It'd mean them creating an account solely to wade through and read stuff about themselves in order to report singular posts and I can understand why not everyone will feel up to doing that.

MediocrePenguin · 08/05/2018 19:07

The sack of spuds comment isn't that bad. I'd laugh if someone said that to me - surely it's more of an opinion on the dress than anything else.

Therightphalange · 08/05/2018 19:07

The stuff is saw about the MOD kids was about them looking unhappy/bored in photos, and asking Simon to stop filming at one point, stuff like that.

All fair enough points in the context of the discussion about the use of kids on Instagram.

timetogetanewfence · 08/05/2018 19:11

@MediocrePenguin see, that comment, I agree, wasn't that bad. It was laughable, but sometimes, IG personas take a lot of sht personally when it comes at them from all angles. I can understand that she might be having a sht time with it all, so she's over it.

NovichoksAway · 08/05/2018 19:11

I’m sure you could email mumsnet as well if you had concerns like that about registering.

timetogetanewfence · 08/05/2018 19:12

Think it was worse than that, @Therightphalange

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 08/05/2018 19:13

if you create an account just to report posts but don't engage, surely that'd stick out to mods that you might not be a "genuine" poster?

Well, we know that MOD has an account ans various other instagrammers. I have a sneaking suspicion that NB wikl have graced us with her presence. But let's say she hasn't and MN are having an "unkind" moment and think she is a troll, I am sure it is fairly easy to verify if you are talking to Natasha Bailey or Donald Trump or Teresa May etc. If not, there is nothing to stop NB emailing MN privately from her own email account

PavlovaPrincess · 08/05/2018 19:14

Way back on the original thread in September of last year, someone made a comment about Clemmie Telford's kids that may or may not have been misunderstood or taken out of context. The poster had their arse handed to them and the comment was deleted.

That (as far as I know) has been the only derogatory comment about any of the instakids. No one has said anything about MOD's kids, in fact the majority have stated how cute the twins are and what a good looking family they are.

No one has said anything about MOD's looks (aside from commenting on her new teeth and that was only in response to stuff MOD had posted). In fact, most people have agreed that MOD is very pretty.

Brendatheblender · 08/05/2018 19:15

It’s almost as if MOD didn’t bully Danielle so publicly and NB didn’t completely shame and goad her friend with severe mental health issues. If they want to find true bullying examples maybe they should look closer to home.

This with bells on.

I have a small account and someone sent me a picture of their breasts once.
I saw mother of daughters stories and don't agree with sending messages like that. That is personal and you would never wear the dress again.
I saw the older girl asking her dad why he was filming and she seemed pretty annoyed. I think she was beach cleaning. I think adults will respect that the kids are off limits, not sure other kids will take that same stance though, either on social media or in real life.

MediocrePenguin · 08/05/2018 19:19

I just think that if you post a picture of yourself showing off a new outfit you can't get all huffy because all the replies aren't just 'OOOH MY GOSH EEEEEE MOD YOU LOOK AMAZEBALLS I LOVE YOOOUUU!'

Some may think new dress looks a bit like you are wearing a potato sack...

FrodoOwl · 08/05/2018 19:21

She has a lot of really nice dresses and often looks absolutely lovely.

PavlovaPrincess · 08/05/2018 19:26

@MediocrePenguin I agree. It's not nice but surely when you get to MOD's level of Instafame you have to take the rough with the smooth. Yes, it's not nice and not something I'd ever say to anyone, but she needs to develop a thicker skin, especially if she's now an author. Not every review is going to be positive and you can't blame it all on 'jellus haterz, babes'.

I'm getting a bit bored of their whining now. Surely the free 5 or 6 holidays a year, the free car, the free Miele washer and dryer, the free saucepans (!) are ample compensation for one Iger saying she looks like a sack of spuds.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 08/05/2018 19:27

They could only drive to the tip marvelle

Oh my God, bagsy me not having to sit in between two improperly restrained twins in the back, spitting at me Wink

The sack of spuds thing is not kind but for goodness sake. Has anyone ever seen the clip of Obama reading out mean tweets about himself. It's hilarious and what makes it hilarious is the fact Obama doesn't give a shit and is laughing at the ridiculousness of the comments. Because, you know, public person and not everyone needs or does like him. And that's OK because his entire self worth is not predicated on 100% of people liking him 100% of the time. Because the only person I have ever heard of with those approval ratings is Kim Jong Un. And - call me unsisterly (to his wife, natch) but I have a sneaking suspicion that these opinion polls might just not be reliable

If this was instagram, Obama would have been crying and demanding the right to personally moderate Twitter. Oh - and the names and addresses of those people too

CadyHeron · 08/05/2018 19:29

Yes, it's not nice and not something I'd ever say to anyone, but she needs to develop a thicker skin

That's a bit of a contradiction, though?
It's not nice and not something I'd ever say to anyone, but come on, you put yourself out there publicly, grow a thicker skin already!"

MediocrePenguin · 08/05/2018 19:32

At least she's not been the subject of a meme yet like poor Gemma Collins!

Plus any shit on here (all the threads, not just this one) mingled in between the discussion of course.
You've got some "freebies!" Suck it up and put up with it all! Get your skin thicker!"
Material shit makes up for mental shit, that reads like. Materialistic, much?

SpringSprangSprung · 08/05/2018 19:34

What interests me is MOD's lack of engagement. She promoted this nonsense campaign, replied to the first few comments and then just walked away from it. Hugely interesting that neither she or her husband will engage with the oft repeated criticism that they are irresponsibly monetising their children for money - and from a healthcare professional trading under #mentalhealth except for my own children

NovichoksAway · 08/05/2018 19:34

I think it’s just an acknowledgment that there are some people out there with different lines in the sand, who don’t self moderate what they say in the same way as you or I would. If you have a public profile and hundreds of thousands of followers there will be some people out there like that who think the dress looks like a sack of potatoes and so say so. They may just think they are being honest when you or I think it’s cruel!

PavlovaPrincess · 08/05/2018 19:37

Fucking ironic when it's MOD you're referring to, no?

She'll advertise any old shit if the price is right.
