I change my sheets every week. My OH said his Mother changed hers about every four weeks. Just wondered how often MNs change theirs.

Once a fortnight. DD’s sheets get changed once a week.

imweirdandcool · 30/04/2018 18:39

I use to do it every two weeks until I watched some YouTube videos now it's once a week on Sunday

missmouse101 · 30/04/2018 18:39

Kids one Sunday, ours the next, so fortnightly. That is FINE! A thorough airing with window open every day, and we both wear PJs.

DragonMummy1418 · 30/04/2018 18:40

If I had the sheets and the time I'd do them every day just because I LOVE the feeling of getting into a clean fresh bed. Alas I have neither of these things so it's probably fortnightly.

PedestrianAtBest · 30/04/2018 18:40

You can change the sheets?!

ilovepixie · 30/04/2018 18:42

Twice a week I love fresh sheets.

Penners99 · 30/04/2018 18:43

Every 5 sleeps

BigPinkBall · 30/04/2018 18:43

When I was a student I changed them every September, when I got new digs (whether they needed changing or not Wink)

Now I’m a responsible adult I change them when I think “when did I last change the bed?” and find I can’t remember. Maybe I’m just not a sweaty person but I never notice that they smell, and I’ve got the nose of a bloodhound, so I just can’t get worked up about changing them.

Eggzandbacon · 30/04/2018 18:44

I now hang like a bat so not to dirty my sheets anymore.....

Actually I AIM for weekly, how often I actually do it is variable.

jaseyraex · 30/04/2018 18:44

Oh dear. Once a month for me Blush
More if something has been spilled, DS sick in bed etc. I try to remember to do them every two weeks in summer.

anon99827 · 30/04/2018 18:47

Once a week on a Friday unless I'm knackered then it's the next day

I boil wash them every 2 hours
Then I sleep on the sofa whilst they’re drying for 2 hours
Then I re-wash

I think I stole this off the last thread

bananafish81 · 30/04/2018 18:51

Once a fortnight. But we both sleep in PJs and socks so there's very limited skin touching the sheets. Clean pants under the PJs daily, clean PJ top and socks daily, clean PJ bottoms every few days. Some of the twice weekly sheets folk will recoil in horror but I bet some of them sleep in the nude and get sweaty sheets Grin

PasstheStarmix · 30/04/2018 18:51

Once a week

00100001 · 30/04/2018 18:51

sneaky do you even like yourself?

I get mine sent to a decontamination laboratory, then put them on a boil wash, rinse with bleach, soak I'm vinegar, second boil wash, then straight into a hermetically sealed drier. WhilSt drying is on, I get bathe in bleach, rinse off with zoflora (neat) get my surgical gloves, scrubs and gown out of their sealed package. Remove the set, straight into a bag, which is then vacuum sealed into another bag. Transferred upstairs.

Meanwhile DH has (in his protective hear) removed the soiled bedding via series of perimeter air locks. Blasted the bedroom with antibacterial and anti viral serums, deployed via the in room air vent system. The mattress us thrown away, a new one delivered and given a good scrub with bleach powder.

The bed gets made. And gets changed just as soon as the next cycle is finished, or once it's been looked at by any living creature (whichever is soonest).
Sometimes the cycle hast't finished so we have a spare set in the clean room. You know for emergency situations.

Turns out though, that DH touched the bedroom door handle without wearing gloves this evening. So naturally I am sending this message from outside, as we had to burn the house down in order to decontamite the local area.

Honestly anything less is just... Gross

HRTpatch · 30/04/2018 18:52

Once a week.
My ultimate luxury would be clean sheets every night

HarrietSchulenberg · 30/04/2018 18:52

Whenever the dog has dug up the garden then trampled his mucky feet all over the bed. So way more often than I would actually like although sometimes I just think "Sod it," and brush it off

Queenoftheblitz · 30/04/2018 18:53

The dirtiest part of the bed is the pillow case. None of us like to think we drool while asleep but we all do.
I change frequently because of spots and skin infections, odour and eating chicken wings in bed.
Plus we can't always smell ourselves.
You wouldn't wear a shirt every day for a month would you?

TittyGolightly · 30/04/2018 18:53

Almost as often as this question comes round........

Roussette · 30/04/2018 18:55

This thread is making me larf.... especially those posters who said every day hahahaha, you're obviously joking! Life is honestly too short so I know you're making it up!

willynillypie · 30/04/2018 18:55

Once a week

Roussette · 30/04/2018 18:56

I wash the pillowcases and the bottom sheet more regularly than all of it, which means that the quilt cover gets done less often. No idea how often. When I remember basically. Probably evens out at about every 2wks or so.

MrsDeltaB · 30/04/2018 18:58

Every two weeks in winter, once a week in summer.

I do however have a strange thing that the longer I have my pillow the nicer it smells for me. Yes yes I know it's likely drool but I find it strangely comforting 😳

Queenoftheblitz · 30/04/2018 18:59

Jackie Kennedy used to have her maids change her bed three times a day. Now that is excessive.
