Aibu to not want this person back in my house?

Animalsoffarthingwood · 26/04/2018 10:01

I had someone in my house recently to do some work from a well known utility company.

I let this person use the toilet as you do, and when he left I realised he'd pissed everywhere, on the toilet seat, on the floor, there were hairs on the toilet seat, it was disgusting. He had a wash in the sink and left hairs in the sink. Just gross.

I didn't know until he'd left, but doubt I'd have been brave enough to say anything anyway.

Apparently he forgot to do something when he was here, and now keeps ringing me to come and finish the job. The thing he forgot is in no way detrimental to me, and doesn't affect me in any way so aibu to just completely ignore him now?

I don't particularly want to look at him again after I had to mop his piss and pubes up from my own bathroom.

This happened to me the other week (he was from BT). I asked BT for a different engineer and that was the end of it

FranticallyPeaceful · 26/04/2018 10:03

(Although thankfully no pubes!)

Aquamarine1029 · 26/04/2018 10:04

Block and ignore. If he shows up on your doorstep, send him on his way.

Animalsoffarthingwood · 26/04/2018 10:05

Maybe I should ring the company then and ask for a different engineer.

I didn't particularly want to report him so thought that they might wonder why.

I’d tell them what a pig he was.

UpstartCrow · 26/04/2018 10:10

Ring the company and give them a heads up, his behaviour isn't appropriate. He shouldn't have left a mess, and he shouldn't keep phoning you.

InkyToesies · 26/04/2018 10:12

He didn’t forget anything. He peed on the seat and floor deliberately. Ditto the pubes in the sink. I’m not sure if they’re down to his washing or wanking in the sink. Why would there be pubes in a sink?

He did this because he gets off on marking / defiling a woman(‘s home).

Did you take photos? If yes, send them with your complaint to the utility company. If not, just complain anyway. You’re not the only one he’s done this to and it might build up a case against him if others have complained.

Do not respond to texts, and if he comes to the door, just close it - do not enter into any dialogue with him.

RoseWhiteTips · 26/04/2018 10:14

Report the behaviour. Good grief, once a gas engineer asked me if I minded him taking his JACKET off. Lol

They are expected to behave appropriately.

RoseWhiteTips · 26/04/2018 10:15

And yes, block him until they deal with him. Report it ASAP. He deserves to be brought to task. Just vile.

Animalsoffarthingwood · 26/04/2018 10:20

Thanks, and thanks for not making me feel like I'm just being a hysterical woman.

Sorry he didn't leave pubes in the sink, he left pubes on the toilet seat. He washed his face in the sink and left beard hairs, I know he had a wash because he came from the bathroom soaked and told me he was sweating and had had a wash.

He left piss and pubes over the toilet and floor, not just a drop it was everywhere.

OP posts:
FizzyGreenWater · 26/04/2018 10:30

That was deliberate.

Please report him.

Mummyoflittledragon · 26/04/2018 10:31

That sounds gross. Ewww. Are you sure all the liquid was definitely all urine? Just wondering if some of it wasn’t dirty water from his face. In any case, what he did was vile and inappropriate. He should have taken a damp flannel with him if he wanted to wash his face.

NoodlesLivesHere · 26/04/2018 10:35

Engineers are the face of a utility company, they are the human connection that people make when they think of the company because everything else is call centre or online.

They will absolutely want to know about behaviour that devalues their brand and will probably thank you for reporting him. Make sure they know not to book him for jobs in the future or you'll cancel your contract.

If he gets in trouble that's his problem, not yours. If he continues to contact you report him for harassment to the company in the first instance. The police if it continues.

londonista · 26/04/2018 10:38

Slightly off topic, but why on earth do grown men think it's fine to leave a bathroom like that? I was in my husband's mega posh city office yesterday, and I went to use the state of the art loo and there was poo smeared all over the seat and bowl. I mean, these are university educated posh boys (for the most part), I just cannot fathom the mindset of someone who leaves a toilet in that state.

Anyway, sorry OP, I'd recommend a different engineer and tell them why.

TomRavenscroft · 26/04/2018 10:49

I completely agree with Noddles; a reputable company will want to know if one of their staff is treating customers and their homes like this.

Report him. Keep it factual and, if you don't think you can stay calm on the phone, email. Report the insanitary behaviour and also the repeated phone calls.

Animalsoffarthingwood · 26/04/2018 13:45

He turned up at the door! Cheeky fucker.

I didn't answer but then saw him drive up and down my street a few times.

Make me wonder if he's made a cock up worse than he's let on.

OP posts:
FizzyGreenWater · 26/04/2018 13:47

No - I think it's because he wanted back in - for reasons connected to the bathroom incident.

It will have given him a kick.

PLEASE report him.

RoseWhiteTips · 26/04/2018 13:48

Have you reported this yet, OP? Please do so ASAP. He needs to be dealt with - but not by you. He sounds creepy and is now harassing you.

DwangelaForever · 26/04/2018 13:48

How do you know they were his pubes? I understand the piss and the beard hair but how do you know they were his pubes?

Fridasfridgefreezer · 26/04/2018 13:51

Def tell the company.

Skittlesandbeer · 26/04/2018 13:52

How does she know they were pubes? Really?

She had beard/head hair to compare them to in the sink, and they were on the toilet seat, in the piss.

And, you know, pubes.

TheQueef · 26/04/2018 13:52

He is getting off. Report to his employers, ASAP

astoundedgoat · 26/04/2018 13:54

How do you know they were his pubes? Because presumably she was reasonably sure the toilet seat was pube-free before he went in?

OP - definitely report this to the company and tell them why - he wasn't embarrassed to piss all over your house, so don't be embarrassed to tell his employers very clearly what happened. It's completely unacceptable and as posters above have suggested, it sounds like it has to be intentional if he left it in such a state. If somehow it was NOT intentional, he needs serious "retraining".

astoundedgoat · 26/04/2018 13:55

Also in NO WORLD would I expect a British Gas (or similar) employee to be calling me and calling at the house after a job. If he forgot to do something, I would expect a call from British Gas to arrange a follow-up appointment. If it's a well known utility company, they would have structures like this in place.

Gilead · 26/04/2018 13:58

This is really dodgy, please report him and get someone else to take a look at his work.
