....asks someone to remove Kay Burley or at least lob a shoe at her head from her labour suite?

OP posts:
FaFoutis · 23/04/2018 21:44

Because maternity pads are massive.

RJnomore1 · 23/04/2018 21:44

I always think they wear something more like incontinence pants for it. Seamless and more secure for 10 minutes if not quite as absorbent of goop.

Please let it be little Prince Gary.

RoseWhiteTips · 23/04/2018 21:46

Why are you taking about your experiences of childbirth?

tillytoodles1 · 23/04/2018 21:48

I bet she was undressed before she got up the stairs, hair in a ponytail and makeup off in the bedroom, then into bed.

FaFoutis · 23/04/2018 21:49

That means she has to sit on a towel in the car.

VanillaSugar · 23/04/2018 21:49

Because we can, rose

I don’t know how she manages to look so nice after each one. I am very jealous of her ability to recover+ hairdresser/stylist. 6 hours after mine I was still on the catheter, was sweating buckets and looked like shit as I had a PPH.i had really heavy lochia as well so a floaty dress would have been a bit risky. I didn’t leave for a few days and even by then I don’t think I could have physically walked in heels- I could barely walk to the toilet after my episiotomy. I’ve got am awful feeling I left hospital in my pyjamas as well as I’d run out of clean clothes. I’m hopeful my future births might be easier- I’d love to be able to leave looking nice!

JustaLittlePrick · 23/04/2018 21:52

Who on earth should have to go outside on a windy day after all those months of pregnancy and two other kids, just having been through labour? Which woman and which baby? My god

Every woman who's ever given birth and left a hospital on her own two feet before getting into a car? How the hell do you think the rest of us got from our hospital bed to the taxi? Flying carpet?

I think they all looked lovely and happy. I'm not a huge royal fan but how can anyone not smile at the safe arrival of a new little person in the world?

I think Kate looks wonderful. I had 5 babies with no complications. Up and about within a couple of hours with each of them. Hair and make up done to come home to a house full of people eager to meet the new baby. I was on top of the world and full of energy after giving birth. I crashed at about 6 weeks each time Grin

I gave birth to an 11lb baby at home so 8.7 seems a perfectly reasonable weight to me too. Certainly not a porker! Smaller than 3 of mine.

Pootle40 · 23/04/2018 21:58

Re the maternity pads-because she is wearing a flimsy dress and I keep thinking-oh god a gust of wind and we will see the outline of the poor woman's maternity pad because they are huge as others have said.

MissEliza · 23/04/2018 22:01

I think Kate looked quite fed up and really just wanted to have time with her new little one. She kept looking down at him. I don't blame her.

Please don't call George a little shit. Most four year olds are at times.

dementedma · 23/04/2018 22:07

Charlotte is just adorable - and the absolute image of the Queen.
I think George often looks apprehensive in front of the cameras. hardly surprising really. Plus he'd just come from school and is supposed to be thrilled about a new baby..
I'm surprised he wasn't dragged in kicking and screaming Grin

MrsJayy · 23/04/2018 22:17

I adore George and Charlotte they look like ordinary toddlers George looked fed up today bless him he probably is like every other 4 year old and Cant be arsed with new babies and wanted to watch Cbeebies after school

BertrandRussell · 23/04/2018 22:19

Well, they look like ordinary toddlers from the 1950s- and rather plain ones at that!

BertrandRussell · 23/04/2018 22:20

Ordinary upper class toddlers from the 1950szzzz

RoseWhiteTips · 23/04/2018 22:21

Charlotte is also like the lovely Lady Sarah Chatto.

RoseWhiteTips · 23/04/2018 22:23

I could gaze at Charlotte all day long. Soooooo adorable.

SurfnTerfFantasticmissfoxy · 23/04/2018 22:29

The checking for 'fertility' and (even more ridiculously) 'birthing ability' is such abject bollocks I don't even know how to respond..... 😂
And as another poster above mentioned, they don't always have it easy - Sophie Wessex nearly died giving birth.

Anyhow, yes she looks incredible. Not sure I could have done that after DS1 but after DS2 I think I probably could have - glad it wasn't required though!

Mrsmadevans · 23/04/2018 22:33

I think George was prob a bit tired from school to be fair to him. Charlotte is adorable however .

nokidshere · 23/04/2018 22:34

I can take or leave the royals, I'm not particularly interested one way or another. But I think some remarks on this thread are quite nasty.

Why would people think that she's just gone home and dumped the baby with a nanny? She's a new Mum who, probably like the rest of us, wants nothing more than to snuggle down with her new baby and family. Just because she has staff and lots of family around doesn't mean that she wants them there or that she is going to palm off her precious 5hr old son off to them. Some posters on here make it sound like she doesn't want kids she's just popping them out for effect.

I do feel sad though for those of you saying "I was home in a couple of hours and making tea for dh & the children" etc etc that your partner thinks so little of you that he/she can't/won't look after you and the baby for at least a short time after giving birth.

MrsDylanBlue · 23/04/2018 22:35

Chris Ship said on ITV tonight “The medics did their job and successfully delivered a baby” Nothing to do with Kate then? Hmm

LoveInTokyo · 23/04/2018 22:41

What nokidshere said.
