If someone has just had a bath and a family members wants to use the same water, but the person who has had the bath before (their water) doesn't want them to, but the family member who wants to use the water doesn't care it's dirty, do they still get to use it?

Of course it could be the teenager wanting to use your old bath water. Either way it's a bit manky odd and you'd be better off having a shower.

VladmirsPoutine · 17/04/2018 21:35

Then have a shower. Bathing is a huge waste.

bilbodog · 17/04/2018 21:37

This actually happened to me over 40 years ago - DF wanted to use my bath water but it was my time of the month and there were bits floating in the water! I was mortified so pulled the plug and said i forgot to leave it.............

MagneticMan · 17/04/2018 21:37

The only meaning for 'clert' I can find is in the Urban Dictionary and I'm not sure it means what people think it means. Clart would probably be more accurate, though clert is indeed a fine word.

Springtrolls · 17/04/2018 21:38

Could be her time of the month. She could have shaved. She could have masturbated.
Regardless, I wouldn't force it. She doesn't want to share, that's it she doesn't have to explain why not.

Skiiltan · 17/04/2018 21:42

Yuck! That’s disgusting! Why does the second person want to use the bath water?

Deliberately wasting gas on heating up a second tubful of water is an awful lot more disgusting. The first person to use the bath very rarely leaves the water dirty. And does it really matter if someone has peed in it? It will have been hugely diluted.

Chattymummyhere · 17/04/2018 21:42

Why would someone want to sit in someone’s else’s filth? You don’t get clean in a bath you just sit in your dirt/dead skin cells.

Catspaws · 17/04/2018 21:42

Person 1 has definitely either pissed or wanked in the bath and doesn't want to admit it.

So not worth an argument, let person 1 pull the plug on their body fluids water and be done with it.

Shedmicehugh1 · 17/04/2018 21:43

I’m laughing at a used bath water dilemma Grin do people actually have such worries?!

TheOriginalEmu · 17/04/2018 21:44

it doesn't matter if the bath is filled with piles of shit, if person 2 doesn't care, then let them get in. person 1 doesn't ahve some sort of ownership of their used bathwater.

what an absolute load of shite about fuck all.

Justmuddlingalong · 17/04/2018 21:45

I'm in Fife. Possibly a local word, but here's the definition courtesy of The Fife Post.

Someone doesn't want someone using their bath water, but the other person wants to, who is in the right?
mimibunz · 17/04/2018 21:45

Yuck!

CheeseandGherkins · 17/04/2018 21:45

Why would you want to use someone else's bathwater if you didn't absolutely have to? That's just grim. How will you be getting clean in dirty water?!

MagneticMan · 17/04/2018 21:46

@justmuddlingalong - aha, thank you, same meaning as clart by the look of it!

Catspaws · 17/04/2018 21:47

@TheOriginalEmu actually I think person 1 is entitled to a bit of dignity here. If I'd bled in the bath on my period as a teenager and my dad wanted to hop in after I would have been horrified, even if he had known and not cared himself.

PrincessoftheSea · 17/04/2018 21:47

Yuk. Sounds like something you would do in dickens time

Gwenhwyfar · 17/04/2018 21:48

"I wouldnt want to be person 2 sharing someone elses water but I couldnt care if someone else wants to use the water once I'm out, I would jus think good for them for caring about the enviroment I guess."

If I had shaved in the water I would consider it an invasion of my privacy for someone to use that water.
OP - Please leave Person 1 alone. The water is finished with, but is still theirs. It's a bit like opening someone's tied up rubbish bag or insisting on seeing someone's toilet before they've flushed it. They may not want it, but it's not yours either.

Shedmicehugh1 · 17/04/2018 21:49

Now people are actually going to argue about used bath water! Are you on a wind up OP?!

SadieHH · 17/04/2018 21:49

Person A should have pulled the plug when they got out then there’d be no debate to be had. It’s not wartime, most people can run to a second tub of water. If you can’t then no, of course it won’t kill you. But given the choice why wouldn’t you want fresh water of your own?

windchimesabotage · 17/04/2018 21:50

I share bathwater with my son but hes a toddler!(obv dont share it if hes really yuck like hes been sick or done a massive poo which needs cleaning!) I dont think I would if he were a teen... I wouldnt get in my husbands used bathwater! You are just bathing in someone elses dirt.
My husband happily gets in water I have used though which I do find odd. Hes always asking me to leave the plug in so he can go next.... hes from the north if that makes any difference hahaha

Gwenhwyfar · 17/04/2018 21:51

"1 doesn't ahve some sort of ownership of their used bathwater. "

Yes, they do. It's their waste water and is personal.

BlondeB83 · 17/04/2018 21:52

A wank, a wee or a period! The adult should avoid.

pilotswife · 17/04/2018 21:53

Gross. Who would want to go second. No
way would I leave my barhwater for anyone else apart from putting it on the garden.
First time my husband stayed in UK the woman hosting him asked him to leave his bath water so she could jump in after him ...he couldn’t do it and pulled the plug.

MagneticMan · 17/04/2018 21:53

It's a bit like opening someone's tied up rubbish bag or insisting on seeing someone's toilet before they've flushed it. They may not want it, but it's not yours either.

I rather like that analogy.

BakedBeans47 · 17/04/2018 21:54

Person 1 I suppose is BU although they could just pull the plug but person 2 is a bit of a minger. Who the fuck wants to sit in water where someone’s just soaped their arse and genitals? Rank.
