I know that's why I'm saying I discuss it in work Hmm.
I agree, as officers we will do the task given to protect the public however when instep outside my police shoes, and go on a forum I should be able to discuss my personal feelings on the matter and inform people that the police don't always agree with the statements issued.

Uniglo18 · 16/04/2018 14:46

@PaulDacreRimsGeese the local Roma community to me use the CofE for their weddings and funerals.

TSSDNCOP · 16/04/2018 14:57

I was writing a reasoned response.

Now I’m going to say this; retract your accusations against me, I’m reporting you to MNHQ.

TSSDNCOP · 16/04/2018 15:04

You have not read my posts correctly, due to your comrephension difficulties you have confused me with another poster and, if you are the poster I think, I was actually rather nice to to in previous posts. Your other accusations against me are fucking outrageous and I don’t care if that makes you hoist your petticoats in faux horror.

Alpineflowers · 16/04/2018 15:22

PaulDacreRimsGeese-I thought Roma were more likely to be Catholic too.

Roma are Gypsies mostly from the Balkans area. So might be more Orthodox as well as Catholic.

'Romany', distant cousins of the Roma, are English Gypsies and they are usually CofE.

There was a fashion in the early 1800s for some Romany to follow nonconformist denominations, such as Primitive Methodism. Not sure about these days though. CofE traditionally

I do not agree with attacking a hearse. If its horse drawn it would upset and spook the horses.

Mightymucks · 16/04/2018 17:51

user, I have to say I’m not convinced you’re really a Special. Because there’s a written test....

MagneticMan · 16/04/2018 17:55

I don't agree with attacking a hearse but it can't be too difficult for local residents (or non locals) to park so badly that the hearse can't get up Mr Osborn-Brooks' road if that's the route the funeral is planning.

user1471450935 · 16/04/2018 18:51

TSS
I am more than happy to withdraw any thing you are unhappy with. I will happily apologise. SORRY.
Mighty
No special just married to PNC operator for 21 years.
Sorry but seeing its was Mr Gordon, flower ripper down, who threatened to attack hearse and earlier many on this thread supported his flower campaign, just want to make sure you realised what he was claiming now.
Anyway we will never agree as I am a hated liberal at heart
Finally I feel so sorry for two groups
Mr and Mrs Obourn Brooks and the frontline officers caught up in this problem.
Hopefully TSS and Mighty all three of us can agree on those 2 groups.
Wish I never posted. So sorry to upset you all. So once sorry.
Bye

The horses could bolt if they're carrying the body of someone evil. It's happened before.

GorgeousJaws · 16/04/2018 19:03

Whut?!

You mean the horses know they're carrying evil, so bolt?

Nah.

TSSDNCOP · 16/04/2018 20:05

I want you to withdraw all the accusations in your posts where I am referenced.

I don’t have to agree with you regarding Mr O-B. I have only ever expressed my sympathy with his plight.

I will not agree regarding the police in this particular case simply because of the ridiculously tenous links that you have to some element if that emergency service.

My husbands in Real Estate insurance, doesn’t mean I know anything about The Shard.

Grandmaswagsbag · 16/04/2018 20:12

Sorry why the aggro over this? It’s a sad sad situation. Feel sorry for the old man, feel equally sorry for the family of the murdered man. Being a burglar doesn’t mean you deserve to get stabbed, where is the humanity? The man had a family and if they want to mourn publicly and be angry (I’d feel angry if someone had stabbed my dad/brother/nephew) even if he was a total shit of a person. If they are threatening people that’s for police to deal with. Not right of self appointed vigilantes to tear down memorial flowers. Where is the sense to kindness in that?

Lougle · 16/04/2018 20:22

That's a bit woo, even for MN. Besides, we all have the capacity for evil, given the right circumstances, being human and all.

I don't think HV is/was evil, either. I can understand that charge being levied at a serial killer who occupies much of their time planning and plotting their next kill, etc. But this was a man who was brought up in a lifestyle, a world with a set of rules. He was taught those rules, and to survive in that world you have to learn the rules and be good at them. I'm not suggesting for a second that any of that excuses his behaviour. Someone upthread said they work in a prison and everyone is damaged, so you can't just give a pass to people because they're damaged, but HV's plan that night was to go out and get some money. Yes, he had a screwdriver, which he used to threaten RO-B. But again, it wasn't a knife or a gun. I still think that if he could, he would have stuck RO-B rather than taking it himself (but who wouldn't?). I think his actions are despicable, yes. Abhorrent, totally. Disgusting, of course. But was he evil? No. I don't think so. Criminal. But not evil.

TSSDNCOP · 16/04/2018 20:25

Do you think your death or injury would be any different if inflicted on you during a burglary of your Home with a screwdriver, as opposed to another weapon.

A weapon is a weapon.

Mydoghatesthebath · 16/04/2018 20:26

Well if you don’t see bullying, threatening and terrorising a. elderly and disabled couple as evil I can’t really see you have s moral compass

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 16/04/2018 20:27

Being a burglar doesn't mean you deserve to get stabbed.

As I've alluded to and will keep alluding to if he'd not been in this gentleman's home he wouldn't have been stabbed. It's as simple as that. I'm afraid my violin is broken

TSSDNCOP · 16/04/2018 20:28

Perhaps he was really their to do some re-wiring.

Or you go tooled up and shit happens.

Thems the breaks.

Grandmaswagsbag · 16/04/2018 20:31

No but he’s not here to care. Are you really saying if your relative was stabbed you’d just shrug and think ‘oh well he was in someone’s house robbing them so well deserved let’s all move on’? It’s not even about right and wrongs, it about people having some sympathy that the family left behind will be sad/angry/ feel the punishment wasn’t justified. You can’t blame someone feeling sad that their relative was murdered can you?

TSSDNCOP · 16/04/2018 20:39

How the dead career criminals family feel is of course their perogative. I imagine they are very upset.

I honestly cannot imagine how they feel as I am not related to such a person that unluckily for him finally bit off more than he could chew.

TSSDNCOP · 16/04/2018 20:41

Sorry posted too early and had too many imagines.

Mightymucks · 16/04/2018 20:44

Being a burglar doesn't mean you deserve to get stabbed.

It doesn’t mean you deserve to get stabbed, no. It does mean that you are more culpable for your death than the person who struck the blow.

RO-B had no interest nor desire to kill HV and I would bet my house he wishes he hadn’t. HV’s death would not have happened if he hadn’t been doing something illegal and put RO-B in a situation where he felt he had to use violence to protect himself.

HV is responsible for his own death and nobody else. He may not have deserved it, but he is responsible for it.

I think if his family had a shred of decency they would be angry with HV for committing the criminal acts that put him in that situation rather than blaming RO-B for what he did.

Trumpdump · 16/04/2018 20:51

The burglar may not have been evil, but he lacked-compassion, decency, and morals. He was not a good man by any account.
