I can't believe they want the funeral to pass by the house. Pure bullying tactics.
I suspect it won't get anywhere the house though, not due to the police but due to some people that actually have a heart.

Springiscoming123 · 14/04/2018 09:35

its laughable, they intend to spend £100k on the funeral so there not short of cash but still rip people of

all them poor pensioner are paying for it in a way

how can you possibly spend that on a funeral

LagunaBubbles · 14/04/2018 09:42

£100,000 for a funeral? How many elderly people are not safe now, won't take the long to rob that kind if the money, the only way they are going to get it.

user2375 · 14/04/2018 10:00

Where do they get £100k from to pay for a funeral? These people are supposedly poor and live in HA homes in Kent because they are no/low income? I wonder if the police/HMRC would ever investigate these huge sums like they do for poor law abiding taxpayers who make small errors on their tax returns? No chance. One rule for them, another for everyone else!

Aeroflotgirl · 14/04/2018 10:09

HV scumbag famy are just vile, no moral compass, no empathy or decency. Why shod precious funds meant for our sick and disabled go to paying for this criminals funeral, it is disgusting. Poor Mr Osborne-Brooks has been driven out of his home and the area he is familiar with because if these scum. His life will never be the same again. I hope he finds somewhere nice, peaceful and quiet for him and his wife, to see out his winter years.

Alpineflowers · 14/04/2018 10:18

What does 'Romany journalist' Jake Bowers, self appointed Romany spokesperson Damian Le Bas or the newspaper periodical Travellers Times have to say about all this?
Oh that's right, nothing.

The above are very vocal when it comes 'rights' and perceived 'injustice' but typically shut up when anything like this happens. If they would come out talk to the press now, and be honest about the criminal element within the Romany (and the Irish Traveller) 'community' and condemn it, then it might go some way to calming things down a bit. But they have nothing to say. As far as they are concerned there isn't a problem. This is what's going wrong. There will be other Gypsies who are disgusted by these bully crime families, but they are being encouraged, or even forced, to stay quiet and they will also understandably be scared of retaliation from their own people if they did say something.

Aeroflotgirl · 14/04/2018 10:53

That's because most of them are robbing and thiwing. Those travellers who disagree with it, are threatened.

BoneyBackJefferson · 14/04/2018 11:48

Alpineflowers

If the traveller powers that be accepted that there was an issue something might be done, but they just seem to ignore the problem.

Aeroflotgirl · 14/04/2018 12:03

because they have no morality.

stitchglitched · 14/04/2018 14:14

I read about that case. John Vincent is Henry's cousin. What a disgusting family.

sheldonesque · 14/04/2018 14:18

A 100k funeral is not going to guarantee him passage through the pearly gates...

The 100k would have been better spent on the victims and then folks wouldn't be seeing their arse about this family.

As for the funeral procession down the road? Words fail me. Really?

HV Civil rights march? Criminal? Tax dodger? Con artist? Thief? You want rights? Start living right and then you can have bloody rights.

The deceased is not the only scummy bully by the looks of it.

Mightymucks · 14/04/2018 14:28

Apparently Osborn Brooks is now getting ready to come home.

Good for him! I hope he does. Brave man not bowing to intimidation.

But the liberals will understand them

I had the misfortune to live in that shithole in the late 90s under New Labour and the experience dropped the scales from my eyes. I was a left wing liberal before I lived there.

Honestly it was horrendous. I was intimidated in my flat, the house next door had a family in it who basically demolished it from the inside out, there was a lunatic downstairs who ended up burning her flat down, one tenant was murdered by his flat mate and there was a house full of addicts and alcoholics. That is all in a block of 14 flats! There were a few decent people living there, I particularly remember two Indian families who ran shops opposite the station who were lovely people, but the area was literally just awash with human detrius. Got out as quick as I could.

Springiscoming123 · 14/04/2018 15:07

he wont be coming home to live, maybe pick up some things but not a permanent move back

Trumpdump · 14/04/2018 16:57

Apparently there is a protest planned for tomorrow...

RoadToRivendell · 14/04/2018 17:31

A £100K funeral. WTAF?

RoadToRivendell · 14/04/2018 17:34

I had the misfortune to live in that shithole in the late 90s under New Labour and the experience dropped the scales from my eyes. I was a left wing liberal before I lived there.

I've travelled more or less the same road - was a Guardian reader before I moved to my current neighbourhood (from South Kensington, embarrassingly), constantly railing about priviledge. Now I live sandwiched between 3 sink estates and it has been an education.

gluteustothemaximus · 14/04/2018 18:16

they intend to spend £100k on the funeral so there not short of cash but still rip people of

That's why they are not short of cash.

The travellers I grew up with, all had top of the range Mercedes, Audis, BMW's etc. That's what you get when you thieve, commit fraud and don't pay your taxes. That and anything they do have to pay, they just threaten, and then magically the money they owe is no longer asked for.

Personwithhorse · 15/04/2018 08:43

Where did the £100,000 for a funeral come from - not from working and paying tax. Tax man needs to investigate - they would for any normal person.

Grandmaswagsbag · 15/04/2018 09:23

Sorry I’m really late in reading about this and Can’t really grasp and answer from google. Why are no charges being brought against the man that stabbed him? Is it just deemed as self defence? I though the last guy that killed a burglar did have charges brought.

TSSDNCOP · 15/04/2018 09:46

Because that guy shot the burglar in the back as he was running away, therefore no longer deemed self-defence.

Jannilost · 15/04/2018 10:30

As this was self defence while the previous one was attacking someone who was fleeing
