Christ, what a thread, once again after all this time I agree with BertrandRussel and the Met Police for Richard Osborn Brooks and his poor wife, the best outcome surely would have been for HV to live and been arrested etc. No sympathy for him or his criminal cousins/uncles, KIDS YES. MR and MRS OB YES.

I think the point TSS was trying to make was that although the family clearly have zero respect for the local people, the police or the council, they do respect other criminals. Which is a sad state of affairs and one which I don’t think anyone would advocate.

I do feel sorry for HV’s kids. But they haven’t actually attended the ‘shrine’. Which is a pretty good indicator the family know it is not an innocent gesture but a provocation it would probably not be safe to have children around.

Yes, you'd think they'd be wary of huge, expensive, ostentatious (and probably tasteless if what we've seen so far is any guide) displays of wealth/grieving/tat.......

Surely them being 'travellers' shouldn't have anything to do with it. But it clearly does. This has similarities with the Telford and Rotherham situations. Police and the lefties too busy being PC and not seeing what is in front of their faces..

I don't agree with trashing a funeral. It would cause lots of trouble, complete ignore. The governments (police, HMRC etc) do need to review how they let these 'communities' get away with behaving in a way others would not be allowed to.

Sadly having worked with central and local government for over 30 years they wont do a thing. They will have plenty of meetings but nothing much will be done

I don't know anything about travellers so I don't understand how their funerals are conducted. Do you have a priest or a deacan. Well who ever they have it hope he/she is not going to start bleating on about his famous "heart of gold" and that he was a "lovely bloke", because. If there is one thing God hates it's people telling lies.
Surely if the funeral company had any morals about them they would not be driving through Hither Green and I'm sorry but I don't care how much money they'd lose if they refused.

It would depend on what type of traveller the family are. Irish Travellers would likely have a Catholic service. Romany Gypsies would more likely be Church of England or Methodist (or similar)

There will be funeral companies who I suspect undertake traveller community funerals.. Money is no object to these communities as they don't pay tax and lie and cheat their way through life. Of course, not ALL of them but clearly its the majority especially in that area.

Or maybe the travellers just bully their way to get the funeral they want - whether it is paid for is anyone's guess.

I always wondered why Nigel Farage had such a following - when the police and government are scared to tackle these communities and especially if you live near or in one yourself it is no wonder you vote for UKIP.

user, she neutrally relates a story in the news and expressed neither approval nor disapproval. Attacking a funeral is a stupid idea and won’t happen. If the locals do anything they should do a silent protest where they turn their backs. But they won’t, because they are too afraid. I suspect they will not be allowed to take that route anyway.

I looked on one of the links provided by Helena, about birthday shrine, to HV, it said it took 5 Police Officers to escort 20 women. The pictures of the male and female PC's show 2 officers in their early twenties. IT IS THEM AND THEIR COLLEGUES I TRUELY FEEL SORRY FOR, apart from Mr and Mrs OB, as if the vigilantes you lot spent pages praising had followed TSSDNCOP advice to me, and kept away, this would have been solved earlier.

Really? I know quite a few people who were still discussing it this weekend - especially when the "shrine" went up.

I'd be surprised if anyone connected to the Police was discussing it - probably too ashamed to bring it up!!

Literally everyone I know is still talking about this. I know a lot of people in both the areas concerned, so that is not surprising. But I also live far away and people here are talking about it too because this area has had similar issues with travellers so it’s relevant.

They rock up every now and again and there is a spate of burglaries and thefts which the police don’t investigate then they move on and leave a massive great mess behind.

My DW is an PNC/APNR operator and son volunteer Police cadet, they haven't mentioned, neither have any officers in the force, bigger problems in our area to worry about.
Back to social media, my DW and Ds FB and SM accounts have no face showing pictures on DW accounts, all are locked in private groups, because the force bans them, and Ds isn't allowed to promote he is cadet, with pictures and posts, all have to go through dedicated police cadet account.

We as a family have just been through our 3rd vetting session, every 7 years, we have to name all residents at home address, debts, relations to others and give permission for full checks. This is the first time no one in her department hasn't been moved or sacked due to either blackmail worries (large debts) or SM history or someone they live or are related to. So we aren't following the like of Mr Gordon thanks.

I am sure all Police officers we know wouldn't approve, but if it not illegally to ban funeral route, what can they do, also if given the duty of guarding the route, they would do it. That's the job you sign up to. Like being in the military.
Also why most officers we know don't speak about work outside, because it can cause problems, and most like to leave the job behind. Most talk about sport or foods or drink.

I thought Roma were more likely to be Catholic too.
