Pretty much what my title says? Who else cuts grass at this time? It's 7pm my son's bedtime and the elderly neighbour has only decided to cut the grass when she has had all day?
It's so loud!

Eh its 7pm and still light. Of course she can do it now! You having a son isn't her problem!

friendlyflicka · 07/04/2018 19:12

I think that is ok. Children play that late outside in the summer.

ReginaPhalange2 · 07/04/2018 19:12

Yabu he might have had other things on today

HolyMountain · 07/04/2018 19:12

7.00 pm is find to mow a lawn , not a problem from me.

HolyMountain · 07/04/2018 19:13

*fine

Frogthefrog · 07/04/2018 19:13

If it was 7am I could see your point - 7pm is fine!

Peachyfizz · 07/04/2018 19:13

They cut their grass late last year too. In the summer it was 9/half 9 a couple of times even pushing towards 10pm

Pretty standard round these parts to mow lawns up to 8.30 at night and we all have young children.

snowagain · 07/04/2018 19:14

YABU. 7pm is not late!

Get a grip.

Any time of day is going to be SOMEone's 'bedtime'... My DH works nights some weeks, so your son playing and yelling and wailing at 2pm, would disturb HIM. Also, he lies in til 11am when he has been on 2-10 shift, so anyone mowing the lawn at 9am would wake him.

But he would just suck it up, like YOU need to.

Maybe you would like everyone to ask when it's a convenient time for YOU, when they want to do ANYthing! Hmm

upsideup · 07/04/2018 19:14

YABU
Its still light out and its not that late.
How do you know she had all day? She could have been busy doing other things all day.
If its still going on past 8.30/9 then she is being unreasonable.

ShutUpBaz · 07/04/2018 19:14

Very normal time to cut grass. Its light still and cooler (grass shouldn't be cut when its too hot). Sorry, YABU.

HopeClearwater · 07/04/2018 19:15

I remember going to sleep to the sound of mowing in the summertime. Get a grip! The neighbourhood doesn’t revolve around your son!!

snowagain · 07/04/2018 19:15

My DH ^always% cuts the grass in the evening. Many people do.

This,...

Haffdonga · 07/04/2018 19:16

7pm fine. Lawn mowing is not going to stop your ds sleeping and the white noise may help. Neighbour was probably waiting for the rain to stop but you sound a little pfb expecting the world to stop for bedtime.

HolyMountain · 07/04/2018 19:16

They are mowing their lawn and not causing an issue.

missmapp · 07/04/2018 19:17

DH cut the grass at seven last night. Not too late at all. Nine or ten is a bit late, but not seven

Travis1 · 07/04/2018 19:17

Yabu. Incredibly so.

steff13 · 07/04/2018 19:17

We always cut the grass around 7/8 in the evening.

ForTheLoveOfSleep · 07/04/2018 19:17

I thought you were supposed to cut it in the evening when it's cooler.

We always cut it in the evenings in the summer as it's the only time DC aren't playing on it.

TerfsUp · 07/04/2018 19:17

YABU.

DaphneFanshaw · 07/04/2018 19:18

How old is your son ?
Why don’t you just put a bit of relaxing music on to drown out the lawn mower.

Rarotonga · 07/04/2018 19:18

I think 7pm is ok but 9 ish is out of order.

Keepingupwiththejonesys · 07/04/2018 19:18

I'd say any time before 9 fine

snewsname · 07/04/2018 19:19

It's fine at this time. Some kids go to bed at 6. Others would be napping at 4. When is a good time that suits everyone?
