Pretty much what my title says? Who else cuts grass at this time? It's 7pm my son's bedtime and the elderly neighbour has only decided to cut the grass when she has had all day?
It's so loud!

I'm just jealous their grass is dry enough!!
Yeah, I thought the thread was going to be about the fact that its still quite cold and very wet, so not the time of year yet for mowing lawns.
That's my excuse, anyway, I'm only thinking of the welfare of the little plants, bless 'em Wink.

Rubyslippers7780 · 07/04/2018 20:38

Mine still covered in snow..... no one cutting grass here...

Tiredofit · 07/04/2018 20:39

We live next to a golf course. In summer they start mowing before 6am. I can't say it's ever bothered me.

greathat · 07/04/2018 20:41

You must have had nicer weather than us today if it's lawn cutting time

BawbagWilbury · 07/04/2018 20:41

@Springiscoming123
were far south

Ah, we are far north! Ours won't need cutting for weeks yet Smile

Many years ago I lived in a flat with another flat mate & the owner. The owner (our age, early 20’s, fwiw) would mow the lawn at 5:30am (or daybreak when it wasn’t yet light at that time) on a Sunday, yes AM. If we complained he’d just say it was his house & if we didn’t like it, tough. So we took to using the super soakers on him. He got pissed off, but still did it. He was properly strange that bloke. Anyway, how the neighbours didn't lynch him I didn’t not know.

I’m sure you’ve got the message now, but just in case...7pm is a perfectly acceptable time to mow the lawn. 9:30-10pm is the top end when it’s light enough imo. Not that I’d be doing itbthen, that’s wine drinking hours.

StripySocksAndDocs · 07/04/2018 20:47

My lawn is a quagmire. Im starting to think I'll never be able to make it again.

notangelinajolie · 07/04/2018 20:49

I'd say anytime before 9.30pm. Don't know where you all live but my DH fed the grass the week before Easter weekend and he's had to cut it twice since then.

OCSockOrphanage · 07/04/2018 20:54

She was probably waiting for the dryest it would get before mowing, which is what we do.

Botanicbaby · 07/04/2018 21:04

I think its late too OP - YANBU.
Do the watering late yes as there is not point doing it during the day if its hot as you will need to do it again but mowing should be done earlier for sure, she should be relaxing in the evening Wink

PrettyLittIeThing · 07/04/2018 21:16

Surprised by these responses as I didn't use my strummer yesterday at 6pm as I was worried people would think it was too late! Good to hear it isn't.

PrettyLittIeThing · 07/04/2018 21:16

LeighaJ · 07/04/2018 22:53

Over 100 responses since the OP last posted, I don't think she's coming back.

SluttyButty · 07/04/2018 22:59

We do, next...I can't use the mower and my husband works until after six. Seven is the time we'd do it. Surprisingly I had 4 kids and managed bedtime around mowers 🙄

GertrudeBelle · 08/04/2018 12:06

I don’t get home from work until 7/7.30pm - so when am I supposed to do it OP?

Oblomov18 · 08/04/2018 12:13

No. She's not coming back. Because she didn't get the response she wanted to 7pm, so then changed it to 9.30-10pm.
