You’re bonkers

No, what's bonkers is women saying they'd be happy to have a night out away from their baby on the same day they'd given birth, which is what that post was referencing.

Who said they’d be happy to have a night out the day the gave birth? I havent seen anyone type that

No, what's bonkers is women making judgements about another woman for spending a few hours away from her 8 day old baby.

Going out 8 days after having a baby is fine if you want to and can. But honestly I would judge any parent who went abroad for four days away from a new born unless they literally has no choice. I would be gutted to hear my mum or dad talk about my birth as just another day. I love going out, I love weekends away from my kids but not when they are so vulnerable and little. I rarely judge but am shocked. Hope their dad is a bit more emotional towards them. My Grandparents were a bit like this with my mum (her mum went away for a week when she was about 6 weeks old and seemed proud about it). She never had a close relationship with them.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 08/04/2018 16:40

Make judgements all you like about me as a parent. You don’t know what sort of parent I am, I bet I parent a lot differently than you think i do.

Sprinklesinmyelbow · 08/04/2018 16:43

If you mean dianethediobolist that’s not what she said is it? She said nothing if the sort, she was pressed into giving an answer to the question twisted and made more extreme than the OP by bonkers poster and still didn’t say she was happy or that she’d done it or knows anyone who has

OnlyFoolsnMothers, you may want to reread your thread about Brazil as you are misremembering. Everyone did not slate your DH. Most posters didn't say anything about him at all. What they did was provide support and handholding for a mum having a bad time. How lovely of them.Smile
