Surprisingly good cheap products.

Posting for traffic.

I've recently got a few bits online that people have recommended for being cheap but really good for what they are. Latest purchases are a really good liquid eyeliner from Amazon for £0.64 and a baby bath seat that should be £20 but was £9.99 inc delivery!

So out of curiosity and wanting to get some stuff has anyone got any recommendations of surprisingly good products they've bought really cheaply?

Not asking for anything particular just anything that comes to mind.

I love this thread! I second the Aldi hairspray-big can like elnette but only about 90p.
Also pretty much anything from Wilko!
Bit random but If anyone knows of any good cheap packing cubes let me know-I’m on the lookout!

@Doingreat you use it once a day - best at night - and you just use tiny amount and it helps reduce pore size, make skin tone more even, reduce acne scarring. I have found my skin looks fresher and healthier and when I get spots (normally the hormonal chin ones) they clear up quicker. It's amazing.

Oh dear Tabby i am sorry if i offended you. I just personally would rather save elsewhere. i didn't realise liking PG Tips made me pretentious.

Vitamin e skincare from Superdrug...no more Liz Earle for me!!
Nivea shower cream - just lovely and cheap as chips
Aveeno body lotion - cheapest on amazon pantry I think
Perfume parlour dupes - I will never buy YSL opium again!
And good old Vaseline for the lips :)

Tesco own brand bubble bath, huge bottle for around 80p , foams even in our hard water area. Smells divine

CannyAnnie · 06/04/2018 22:04

On the back of this I bought the collection mascara - it's fab and lasted all day. No more £20+ posh brands for me!

On another thread about cleaning make up brushes someone said their friend used pears soap. I’ve been using the Mac one at £12 for years but just tried the basic bar of soap I have and it’s worked a treat!

@TravellingFleet

Mane & Tail was selling for £10 a bottle in Liberty, London. Possibly still is.

It's €6 in my local supermarket.
Good stuff!

TravellingFleet · 07/04/2018 06:38

@keithRichardson - probably even cheaper in an equine shop. Or much bigger bottles.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/04/2018 07:02

I use ordinary bar soap to clean brushes, and on shirt collars. Soaps brilliant.

Babybearsporij · 07/04/2018 07:20

The Aldi almond handwash, it's about 59p for a massive container. It's so moisturising on my dry hands and smells gorgeous.

starkid · 07/04/2018 09:56

We've been using the Lidl dishwasher tablets and have been great :)

KaliforniaDreamz · 07/04/2018 10:00

Star i hate how expensive dishwassher tabs are, are the Lidl ones really ok? Does anyone rate Aldi for washing powder and dishwasher tabs, or Wilko?

I love Aldi liquid soap, i think it's nectarine and something, yellowy liquid, smells really expensive.

Slartybartfast · 07/04/2018 10:09

i try and buy dishwasher powder, you can judge for yourself how much to put in, problem is not many places do it, Sainsburys do,

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 07/04/2018 10:13

The Waitrose own brand Italian red for 4.99- it's really nice and replaces Asdas Seven Hills that they stopped selling. Both tasted more expensive than they are but are also good to cook with.

Waitrose Essentials bath stuff and soap. Nice on the skin and good flavours. I use this in the refillable travel bottles I have on the go, too. Cheaper than miniatures.

Waitrose essentials washing care range- works really well. And I also use lemon juice as a stain remover/ washing freshener. Cheap but effective. Wilko disinfectant and white vinegar cleaning spray are also really good.

Astral- heavenly stuff. I buy the big tubs when they're on offer in Superdrug. Use it sparingly and also top up travel sized pots from it. Lasts ages.

Baby shampoo for make up brush cleaner. I start mine off with a swirl of good brush cleaner to loosen on my foundation brush because I use really heavy duty foundation and then use Superdrug My Little Star shampoo- and only use MLS on everything else.

Garnier eye make up remover in the purple bottle is the gentlest I have found and cheap.

Browse Lakeland for storage product ideas and then go and look in Wilko for the same fixtures cheaper. 9/10 Wilko have a decent version cheaper!

My skin hates it but Ponds cold cream, if it works on your skin, is pretty good and cheap.

KaliforniaDreamz · 07/04/2018 10:15

Right, I'm doing a Wilko order. What should i get?!

sarasmiles · 07/04/2018 10:20

Lidl drinking yoghurt in flavours (strawberry and I think mango) are cheap and large and a bargain!

AnneWiddecombesHandbag · 07/04/2018 14:54

Rimmel matte lipsticks are great! Last all day even when you've eaten and drunk.

starkid · 07/04/2018 18:23

KaliforniaDreamz - Honestly yes, the Lidl dishwasher tabs are fab and so cheap! I've heard good things about the Aldi Magnum dishwasher tabs too.

I picked up a couple of beauty recommendations from Lidl today so will see how they go. I love this thread Grin

brownelephant · 07/04/2018 18:32

the lidl all in one tabs usually come in better than finish all in one in tests. (the german 'which' equivalent for example.

Whenwillth1send · 07/04/2018 18:39

Savers false nails they have beautiful two tone metallic ones for £2.99 yhe only other ones I've seen are £10

eggsandchips · 07/04/2018 18:46

@CanIhavedessertfirst well it arrived but they sent 5% instead of 10%!

Mane and tail can be bought on amazon 😊

CanIhavedessertfirst · 07/04/2018 19:04

@eggsandchips I hope it works for you! The 5% will probably be just as good anyway, still annoying though!

TrueBlue22 · 07/04/2018 19:14

My favourite white wine is £3.89 a bottle from Aldi.. it's amazing! Cambalala Chenin Blanc.

SpeckledyHen · 07/04/2018 19:25
