To ask how much you are paying for your Summer holiday?

How much do you/are you paying for your Summer holiday? What will you be doing? Abroad, UK, camping or hotel or cottage etc. How long for?

I just want to know if my holidays are very expensive.

The last few years we've been going to the same place and renting fab little cottages, the location is ideal for us and the places we've rented have been lovely, home from home.

A few people have been shocked at how much we've paid but I think they are kidding themselves to think you'd get equivalent in the school holidays for any less.

The dc love it there. Think we are paying more as previous years did self catering there but I decided this year to try the hotel and dining plan as otherwise my holiday is just cooking and washing up and this year will have a baby there too so I won’t hsve time !

We're going to Eurocamp this year and for the May half term it is only £650 including flights. We've never done it before but have grown tiresome of the all inclusive regime. Looking forward to it!

About £2 grand on euro camp self catering in a bungalow caravan thing (whatever they're called!) Including flights to Spain and car hire. I got a good deal. That's for two kids two adults last week of the summer holidays

There's just two of us so we are quite flexible and choose not go during summer holidays, so that keeps the cost down. We are trying to save money this year so we just booked four nights in Berlin today for £600 (hotel +flights). We usually do a UK cottage holiday with dog too, which tends to cost around £500 for a week. In winter we often go to the Canaries. It's about £1800 for two of us, all inclusive.

About £420 flights for five people to Croatia
And about £1,500 for 14 nights accommodation through Airb&b

£5k for two adults to Disney world, food and tickets included and first class flight. 10 days.

I love these threads - seeing where everyone else is going on holiday. I actually think cost has little to do with how much you enjoy it - over the years we've had everything from a £10,000 plus trip to California to a free week in a British beach hut with everything in between and I can honestly say the thrill of going on holiday (everyone being away together somewhere) is always the same. We all look forward to going whatever the budget. For the record we're having ten days in Portugal this summer costing £2,000 for four followed by a couple of weeks with family in the UK. Spending ore doesn't necessarily mean you enjoy it more - in fact it might mean you enjoy it less if money is tight.

Proper holiday every two years, spend a year saving up and planning it. Around 3k inc flights for 2 adults, USA road trips for 10 days inc spends. Outside school holidays.

£2.7k Majorca in May 2 adults, 2 dc (taking them out of school cos NI aren't so bothered). Brexit is to blame for price hikes!

£2K on a week in Cornwall for DH, dd and me in June. Flights, car hire and cottage.

2 adults all inclusive- week in the med will cost £900.

One thousand on a half board ROOM only Butlins weeks holiday for 2 adults and 3 kids school holidays and same again for a week in a caravan

2 adults 2 DC (DS will be months old), 1 week all inclusive to Ibiza 4*... £2400. Can’t wait! No cooking, cleaning, laundry for a week!

2k for two adults all inclusive luxury hotel in Turkey for 1 week. Me and my best mate. Can’t bloody wait!

We generally go long haul holidays but started looking for a European 2 week break in June. Holy crap, the prices 😮. For the cost of a decent adults only hotel in Europe we could go much further afield to a really nice hotel. We had a long haul holiday at the end of last year so not really up for another 12 hour jaunt so soon. Not to mention the flight times (from Scotland) are utter shit. No way do we want to land back in the UK in the early hours.

We are paying £1750 for a week in I iza in August, 2 adults and 3 kids - the youngest kids (5 and 1) are free, otherwise this would have cost about £2500. We are paying £750 less than we did last year for a week in Majorca at the same time!

About £4k for 11 nights in Mallorca, all inclusive early-mid August. 2 adults & DD4. Incl easyJet flights and car hire. Insane amount of money for Mallorca if you ask me but hey how that's what you get with school holidays.

3k for 2 weeks in Thailand, 2 adults 2 kids aged 8 and 11. That includes mid range self.catered accomm and a 2 day side trip to an elephant sanctuary.

That is very end of school holidays and so potentially rainy for a few of the days. Also does not include private scripts for any antimalarials we might need.
