The thread continues....if it hasn't continued elsewhere! @Lateforall it was me who questioned Lobella loves depression wears lippy campaign. I get that the idea is that being a bit glam might be a way of coping. And i have been guilty of putting my face on to carry on in the world. I get that not everyone with pnd is sat at home in pjs unshowered with greasy hair. But I just find the whole thing so false on her account - maybe that is because I know of her in real life.

But I think so many of them have massivley over exaggerated aspects of their lives because it sells. Whether that is FODs clumsy parenting or whatever. But it really doesnt sit well

And before you tell me to unfollow, I don't bloody follow half of them, they're just all over my feed

Mumofkids · 04/04/2018 10:57

@cadyheron you are taking my comment way too seriously. I meant the joke towards the disabled reference. If my neighbours were bragging about illegal practises then yes I would report them, of course. What on earth is your point?

Doctorbubbles · 04/04/2018 11:02

@internetschminternet perfectly put!

HolyMountain · 04/04/2018 11:07

Lisa’s not happy about the thread

@beansandsausages personally I think motheroffiveboys deserves some freebies! I've been exhausted watching them, they never stop! And always out and about, visiting places and no one can fault how much time they spend with their kids and the experiences they are giving them. I take my hat off to them! I need whatever she's taking.
-and I know I'll be accused of saying that in my eyes she's deserving of freebies, lol which is fine. It's an account I follow where I literally just can't believe how much they put in. Respect. Travelling with 5 young boys, twin babies to the degree they have is intense.

Mumofkids · 04/04/2018 11:08

Who's Lisa?

CadyHeron · 04/04/2018 11:09

kirinm I have repeatedly said that of course they should be marked as ads. It's wrong not to.
Interesting how some morals only stretch to Instas though.

Doctorbubbles · 04/04/2018 11:10

I feel for all the followers who are giving her genuine advice about cars - so tempted to comment on there that she doesn't really care about their recommendations - it is clear which car she has her eye on!

HolyMountain · 04/04/2018 11:10

Lisa Dawson , Interiors blogger .

MadameGrizzly · 04/04/2018 11:11

I had to unfollow Lisa Dawson ages ago because she posted that disclosure was at her discretion, or words to that effect.

CadyHeron · 04/04/2018 11:12

mumofkids fair enough then, you're in a minority though as lots of people on threads saying should they report their neighbours for false claiming are told to mind their own business or it's not much to do with them/might not be as straight forward as they think.

nipersvest · 04/04/2018 11:13

So basically, it's absolutely ok for instagrammers to indulge in sly (and potentially illegal) advertising practices but not ok to say anything about it?

Mumofkids · 04/04/2018 11:14

@cadyheron but your morals are all over the place! Literally crazy. Do you argue with yourself?

Doctorbubbles · 04/04/2018 11:14

oh my god this Lisa woman has totally missed the mark! she is stating that these influencers are advertising because it's a job for them! yes, i don't recall anything other than this being said. she has totally missed the point that a lot of people on instagram are not following the ASA guidelines! don't you just love it when people think they are the gospel about a topic even though they readily admit they haven't all the details - 'i didn't read all the mumsnet comments' - well maybe you should have Lisa before putting your two pence in smh

kirinm · 04/04/2018 11:15

@CadyHeron on what other forum do you see rules / regulations ignored so often though? Instagram is rife with it.

Doctorbubbles · 04/04/2018 11:16

she's also pulling out the 'women supporting women' card - yawn!!!

HolyMountain · 04/04/2018 11:16

She has said on her stories IGers are doing full time jobs and are compliant with ASA rules.

It’s all fine as far as she’s concerned and they’re all doing a job for each other.

Mumofkids · 04/04/2018 11:18

@cadyheron I would not go looking to report my neighbours as such, it would be dependant on how blatant something was. It's very true that someone's circumstances may not be straightforward. I lived next door to a guy years ago who every time he nearly got his benefits removed, collapsed and pretended he couldn't walk, soentva week in hospital and then came back and carried on. Pretty hard to report as you can't disprove hospital reports. He now works harder than anyone I know farming! And another lady I know is milking the system but I genuinely have no idea how you'd prove it. My neighbours though are all fine.

InternetSchminternet · 04/04/2018 11:20

This was what stuck out for me from Lisa Dawson's insightful contribution.

If she had bothered to read the thread (I suspect she just honed in on the shitty comments and didn't bother with the majority of the parts where there has been proper discussion) she's see that:

A) people DONT disclose and that's why this thread exists, and

B) we KNOW nothing is ever free which is exactly why we're not happy with the shady featuring and tagging of products and brands under the guise of "I was sent this! Thanks! Oh, it's not an ad tho"

No idea who Lisa is, apparently she's an influencer who works 24 hrs a day on content- sure it's a very important job Hmm
Also , apparently we're the dailymail commentators of parenting

Doctorbubbles · 04/04/2018 11:24

and although she has tried to blank out the names of the contributors you can clearly see @cadyheron and @chocolateteapot

Lisa gets sent a huge amount of stuff and not solely interior related gifts either.

Doctorbubbles · 04/04/2018 11:26

@Internetschminternet i am also fuming at her parading as a gospel on such matters. Probably wants some more publicity!

3asAbird · 04/04/2018 11:29

Moving on from dlam cab someone explain mrs meldrum pushing cleo app on her insta stories again.
Shes pushed it on fb Insta and you tube a few times before.
She states its not an ad or paid partnerships but she does get £5 for each sign up.
Why cant she just use an online banking app.
She claims people messaging her about it.
In all fairness she claims to earn so much to keep track of and god does she love to spend despite her new simpler less materialistic life she claimed in the new year.
How they saving hard for new build.
Also in her insta story she featured that beauty vloggers bitchy repsonse so clearly she has issues with transparency and being questioned. She blocks and deletes comments on insta and you tube.
