The thread continues....if it hasn't continued elsewhere! @Lateforall it was me who questioned Lobella loves depression wears lippy campaign. I get that the idea is that being a bit glam might be a way of coping. And i have been guilty of putting my face on to carry on in the world. I get that not everyone with pnd is sat at home in pjs unshowered with greasy hair. But I just find the whole thing so false on her account - maybe that is because I know of her in real life.

But I think so many of them have massivley over exaggerated aspects of their lives because it sells. Whether that is FODs clumsy parenting or whatever. But it really doesnt sit well

@PavlovaPrincess

Personally if I was gifted something I liked, and planned to keep and use I would mention them as soon as possible and give a bit info. Especially if it was from a charity.

I'm assuming they get sent so much stuff that it's difficult to fit in featuring everything.

RunMummyRun68 · 03/04/2018 23:24

Well it's all kicked off tonight with Denise!!!

PavlovaPrincess · 03/04/2018 23:25

Ok @Sofialemon fair enough.

See, that's us agreeing on something 🙌

Sofialemon · 03/04/2018 23:28

@miamimice

Actually I'm almost certain the debate was also about whether the post should have been #ad. The t shirt in the add was also obviously a gift, whilst they're tagged she hasn't provided any info about them either. They've commented themselves.

Not sure if the lack of info is because she just wanted to post a quick pic and so didn't add much text or if there's a specific reason. Anyway the 2 small brands tagged clearly don't mind as they've thanked her.

Mumofkids · 03/04/2018 23:29

@sofialemon I imagine that is true.

Sofialemon · 03/04/2018 23:33

@miamimice

Why not DM her yourself? I didn't really expect a reply but she did quite quickly and answered my question. I've also DM'd another blogger mentioned on here who also replied, within a few hours and seems very nice.

MadameGrizzly · 04/04/2018 00:32

I don't think there is any question that the majority of instamums are indeed very nice people. It's their business practices that are shady.

And while DLAM might not read MN, her BFF MOD certainly reads and participates on these threads.

I'm curious that you asked about the relatively inexpensive bag, Sofia, but not Cornwall accommodation?

Mumofkids · 04/04/2018 00:40

Interestingly socialblade stats for Instagram have been unexpectedly pulled since appearing on this thread.

So Instagram is stopping consumers from getting access to social blade but allowing companies that sell and users that buy fake followers to continue to use their platform? My trust in Facebook and Instagram was already at a very low point.

nipersvest · 04/04/2018 07:10

@mumofkids it would be pretty amusing if mumsnet threads could claim responsibility for instagram pulling social blades access I suspect it’s down to much bigger issues like Cambridge Analytica.

HolyMountain · 04/04/2018 07:19

I’ve unfollowed CH after her behaviour regarding Denise. Her blog has changed and not for the good . It’s mostly brand overview now for which she’s in paid partnership with them for.

Not that Caroline Hiron’s gives a shit.

I remember her coming on the original thread on S+B when a few beauty bloggers got a bit of a roasting and if I recall she’s quite proud of herself when she’s outed people who’ve offended her.

BeansandSausages · 04/04/2018 07:19

Anyone got any thoughts on what I posted? No biggie but curious...

miamimice · 04/04/2018 07:23

Sorry Beans, the thread moves so quickly. I don't really understand the question you asked, sorry!

Sofialemon · 04/04/2018 07:30

@BeansandSausages

I think if the shoes were pictured with #ad and the instagrammer had featured them as agreed with the brand then no further pics or stories (not featuring the shoes) need to have #ad.

As the brand paid for the trip I think that should be mentioned in the initial ad or in stories.

InternetSchminternet · 04/04/2018 07:33

Has anyone watched Susie's stories and seen her "review" of Disneyland? It's worth a look especially if you've watched recent #ad posts about Disneyland

InternetSchminternet · 04/04/2018 07:33

I say "review" because they paid for it themselves - Greg surprised her and the boys as a 30th bday present as they're in the US

Sofialemon · 04/04/2018 07:34

@MadameGrizzly

I know MOD and others have read and commented on these threads. I know others have read and commented on their insta stories. I wouldn't be surprised if agencies like Gleam also monitor sites like this (and other media) and instruct their clients based on what is being said.

HolyMountain · 04/04/2018 07:34

The only girl clarified the Kickers thing in her stories, she was very clear about why they weren’t wearing the shoes but insists she did fulfil Kickers requirements.

I like her , she isn’t full of ads on her grid although the boys do feature heavily.

BeansandSausages · 04/04/2018 07:35

It's ok Miami it does, doesn't it.

Thanks Sofia. It definitely was mentioned in the square. Like I said this person is usually good at disclosure and is clearly reading this as her ads are starting to be marked as AD too.

On another note SV 's review of Disneyland is amusing, I feel for them as it does look quite intense and not my cup of tea!

BeansandSausages · 04/04/2018 07:43

Thanks Holy. Yes I like her too. I think she shows her normality well and that everything isn't roses. I do agree the children feature very heavily. I presume the oldest 4 are asked permission as she said previously she asked permission to H whether she could post about his emotional struggles. And one of the SDC (is that a thing... step children) refuses to be on there much.

HolyMountain · 04/04/2018 07:50

Susue’s review was amusing and as they’d paid for themselves ; totally honest!

We’ve never been able to afford Disney and Florida and to be honest it’s my idea of absolute hell.

I’m guessing MoFod went straight to the front of all queues when they were there.

Sofialemon · 04/04/2018 07:54

@BeansandSausages
Love Susie's Disney Review, my husband & I were just talking about maybe taking our kids spring 2020, they'd be 13 & 8.

I'm a Disney hater but we've done Paris Disney twice. I booked out of peak holiday time, we stayed in the Disney hotels and paid extra for the packages with extra fast passes and unlimited hotel snacks included. I actually really enjoyed it, but only because the longest we queued for was 10 mins and the parks were relatively quiet. No way on earth would I queue for over an hour, and with a baby it would be absolute hell!!

BeansandSausages · 04/04/2018 07:58

Same @holy and I doubt we will ever go - mine would love to, I'm sure, but like a PP said they find outdoorsy holidays /Center Parcs so much fun so we will stick to that!

@Sofia that sounds great, 10 mins! Wow.

mrscampbellblackreturns · 04/04/2018 08:28

I unfollowed CH around the time she came on the s&b threads. She is just so unpleasant.

I think what she has done is incredibly unprofessional and lordy, that person only said what an awful lot of people think.

Pretty much all bloggers/professional instagrammers are salespeople - why don't they just own it?

PavlovaPrincess · 04/04/2018 09:08

I love SV's Disney review Grin

That's exactly the kind of thing I'd like to see more of (I don't mean having a shit time on holiday either).

Tbh, I know Disney is supposed to be for little kids, but I can't imagine it's much fun with ones as tiny as Susie's. Although it's not really my bag, so it wouldn't be my idea of fun at all.

I wonder how different it would've been if it was #ad but I guess we'll never know. Would she have got different treatment or would she have gritted her teeth and said it was wonderful? (Just speculating).
