I am SO embarrassed right now.

The imaginary conversation was between me and a singing idol of mine. We were collaborating on something together when he suddenly announced that he had feelings for me and could no longer work with me, didn't want to cheat on his wife etc.....BlushBlushBlush

I thought my husband had come up to bed 10 mins earlier and only realised when I got upstairs, that he was actually sat in the room off our kitchen!

FUCK!!! This is mortifying. He hasn't mentioned it but he surely heard me!

AIBU to run away and never come back?!

WTF?! Confused

Get help.

WorraLiberty · 26/03/2018 00:02

Have you posted about this before?

I think it's about the 3rd time I've read it in probably the last 6 or 7 months? Confused

Unless there are more of your out there, or you're all married to the same man? Grin

elQuintoConyo · 26/03/2018 00:02

Bloody hell! I may mutter to myself now and then, run through the shopping list, but definitely no role-playing.

Cringe-a-rama!

DyingOfShame · 26/03/2018 00:03

Does nobody else talk to themselves?

I know it was a bit far fetched, but I didn't think it was totally loony behaviour. Or perhaps it is and I do indeed need help!

OP posts:
DyingOfShame · 26/03/2018 00:04

No never posted about this before. I have name changed for this though as it's so fucking cringeworthy.

Casmama · 26/03/2018 00:05

Quite apart from the fact that this is bonkers if you are over the age of about thirteen- the conversation was out loud?!?!
Were you doing voices too?
Oh op, I’m mortified for you Grin

kimanda · 26/03/2018 00:05

Errrrr, no I never ever sit there talking to an imaginary Zac Effron about how I can't leave my husband for him, as too many people would get hurt. Confused

Do you seriously DO this?

HermionesRightHook · 26/03/2018 00:06

Jesus if I was going to be embarrassed every time my DH heard me doing similar I'd never stop being beetroot.

Some of us just have overactive imaginations, that's all. It's not super weird, and it's not weird not to do it, either.

buffalosdonthavewings · 26/03/2018 00:06

i talk to myself all the time but never a two sided full on role play.
more like when I'm trying to remember where something is or thinking out loud what to cook etc.. my children often look at me and say 'WHO are you talking to??' husband on the other hand ignores it, he's uses to my weirdness.

DyingOfShame · 26/03/2018 00:06

Yes there were voices involved too.

Awful.

OP posts:
LonginesPrime · 26/03/2018 00:06

OP, do you do both voices or just yours?

kimanda · 26/03/2018 00:07

Oooooooooookay.........

DyingOfShame · 26/03/2018 00:07

Oh thank god, there is at least one other person who admits to doing this! Or something vaguely similar

OP posts:
NorbertTheDragon · 26/03/2018 00:07

There was a whole huge thread on this once.

But obviously I don't know what you're talking about and have never had to explain to my son's headteacher that I was being Pink on the way home from dropping DS to school. Blush

SimonBridges · 26/03/2018 00:08

I talk to myself all the time. As does DH.

DyingOfShame · 26/03/2018 00:09

Longines - I did both voices. I'm laughing at myself and the responses whilst feeling simultaneously mortified.

I need to go and find this other thread

Chatting to yourself is one thing. Role playing, and pretending your fave actor is singer is there with you, and wants to have an affair with you, (and doing both voices!) is weird.

DyingOfShame · 26/03/2018 00:10

Norbert - please elaborate!

Thank you Kim, you have very much made your point!

I've starred in a number of cookery programs.

Only got caught once Grin

mathanxiety · 26/03/2018 00:16

Does nobody else talk to themselves?

I curse about my keys. They unfortunately do not respond with clues as to their location.

I had an imaginary friend back when I was about 3 though.

DyingOfShame · 26/03/2018 00:17

Were you just playing yourself though? Or were you several different characters!?

OP posts:
HappydaysArehere · 26/03/2018 00:17

If he says anything. Tell him you were trying to remember a film you had seen and was going through the dialogue to help your recall!
