I can't of dropped 40lbs in 9 days...what is going on ?

Wantacurry · 21/03/2018 09:48

I am a very fat 20 stone woman with medical issues.

Currently following a very strict low cal medical eating plan under dietician for the past 9 days, another 13 days to go :(

The digital bathroom scales which are still working correctly for my DH, tells me I have dropped 40 pounds over the last 9 days !

That can't be right, can it ?

I do minimum of 5 miles walking a day (11, 000 steps via Fitbit), 15 minutes of body weight with trx straps exercise x 3 a week and occasional swim at the weekend with my family.

Is this broken scales, water loss or a completed anomoly and I will be much heavier again tomorrow.

Just for completeness. I always use same scales on same point of the floor, when I wake up in the morning. After using toilet but before I step into the shower and naked !

Of course I would be delighted if it was a real loss but logically it just can't be, can it ?

Wow - brilliant effort
Congratulations - hope you are feeling a bit better too.

DownUdderer · 13/06/2018 10:26

That’s amazingly good! How are you feeling?

IJustHadToNameChange · 13/06/2018 10:30

Do you have a set of scales that can identify individual people?

Might it think you're someone else?

How do your clothes feel?

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 13/06/2018 10:30

I came for the faulty scales discussion and stayed for the fodmap stock cube chat.

I use barley miso. As its fermented the fodmap content is low.
I think it tastes really good.

You can get other kinds. Some has fish for flavour but I don't eat meat.

GabsAlot · 13/06/2018 10:31

this was resolved in march ijust op updated since then

well done on the weight loss brilliant going

Amatullah · 13/06/2018 10:32

Wohoo well done op!!

Namechange op figured it out, was a glitch in the scales. Shes now 40lb down for real.

ifonly4 · 13/06/2018 10:36

Congratulations, you're doing so well and should be really proud of yourself. Hope you are starting to notice the difference and it's spurring you on to continue.

Jace, well done to you as well!

BringMeTea · 13/06/2018 10:38

Great update OP! Well done and keep going....

Wantacurry · 13/06/2018 10:38

Feeling good. Will keep on going.

A mother on the playground asked if I had lost weight and I was 'looking good' yesterday, which really cheered me up.

Definitely no grit in the scale leg this time !

Ps. Barley Miso sounds good. I will look into that. Though now it is warmer I am having salad for lunches not soup.

You are doing great - well done.

MumofBoysx2 · 13/06/2018 10:45

The logical thing is go and weigh yourself on some different scales - Boots or somewhere.

frasier · 13/06/2018 10:47

You get a little print out with some of the scales in Boots et al. You could pin them up somewhere as a countdown!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 13/06/2018 10:50

You're doing great OP, keep on keeping on, well done. 🌸

kimball · 13/06/2018 10:50

dysongirl · 13/06/2018 11:02

Wow congratulations

Hefzi · 13/06/2018 11:04

Fantastic, well done, OP! I'm a similar weight to your starting point - you've really inspired me Smile

CiderwithBuda · 13/06/2018 11:04

I remember reading this thread when you posted. Bloody well done on your loss. That’s amazing!

I also have a lot to lose and did myself a chart the other day to tick off each pound. It’s pretty basic but there are some great ones on Pinterest etc. I’ve marked various squares which are mini goals. I’m hoping it will help motivate me. When you have a lot to lose it seems like such a mountain to climb.

bellabasset · 13/06/2018 11:06

Congratulations

CristalTipps · 13/06/2018 11:15

Not rapid weightloss related, but have you tried taking probiotics? They cured my gastritis, and are supposed to be very helpful for the digestive system in general. I take the Biokult ones from Amazon.

TheClitterati · 13/06/2018 11:26

i had success with low FODMAP diet for increasingly painful and very difficult IBS. But it is hard to maintain for a long time especially if you don't like to eat much meat.

I started making my own kefir a few months ago and taking it daily and it has pretty much cured my IBS. It is like a super mega pro-biotic and if you are suffering with IBS I really recommend giving it a go.

I can even eat bread and apples now - which were total no go's before. Stone fruits were completely off limits (probably my worst offenders) but I had apricots recently with no issues. Such a relief.

If anyone is in east Kent my kefir grains are growing rapidly and I can give you some - please PM me. It is super simple to make at home.

GOOD WORK OP!!!

Wantacurry · 13/06/2018 11:26

My consultant said probiotics will not help my medical issues. So I don't use them but ymmv.

I really recommend my fitness pal website. It is easy to log food and I like watch the numbers drop slowly.

Hefzi Have a go. If I can do it, anyone can.

I try out different food on Saturday night (just in case I react badly to them) So I hope to add more food to my current limited diet pretty soon.
