I can't of dropped 40lbs in 9 days...what is going on ?

I am a very fat 20 stone woman with medical issues.

Currently following a very strict low cal medical eating plan under dietician for the past 9 days, another 13 days to go :(

The digital bathroom scales which are still working correctly for my DH, tells me I have dropped 40 pounds over the last 9 days !

That can't be right, can it ?

I do minimum of 5 miles walking a day (11, 000 steps via Fitbit), 15 minutes of body weight with trx straps exercise x 3 a week and occasional swim at the weekend with my family.

Is this broken scales, water loss or a completed anomoly and I will be much heavier again tomorrow.

Just for completeness. I always use same scales on same point of the floor, when I wake up in the morning. After using toilet but before I step into the shower and naked !

Of course I would be delighted if it was a real loss but logically it just can't be, can it ?

As condiments I mean!! That wasn't all I could eat (felt like it sometimes though).

Very well done indeed lass.

You've given me the incentive to keep going, thank you Grin

Wantacurry · 23/03/2018 11:56

Thanks for the kind words :)

I have a long long way to go. Assuming I can keep on going.

Ps. The Fodmap stick cubes are meh. Don't smell/taste of chicken but with pepper in my vegetable soup they are fine.

OP, every single pound is a step towards being healthier. Obviously it will slow down as you lose more, but it will keep going if you do 🤞🏻

Wantacurry · 23/03/2018 12:08

Oh. I forgot to tell you guys what the problem with the scales was. A small piece of grit on one of the legs and as the scale body goes up and down on the legs, this grit had stopped one leg working and hence my stupid weight loss. Once the grit was removed it was fine.

My husband had last used the scales a couple of hours before me and the grit must of stuck in time for my morning weigh in.

So before my next (weekly) weigh in. I will check the legs of the scale to avoid the same thing happening again.

Evening all. And well done on your weight loss, OP!

We just wanted to stop by as we've had a few reports of grammar policing on this thread. We know it's not the worst crime in the world, and the OP took it in the spirit it was presumably intended but in general we do think it's a bit mean to point out others' mistakes and can easily derail a thread. If you wouldn't mind just quietly seething to yourselves in future, we'd appreciate it. Wink

We do have Pedants' Corner over here, though, where anyone who likes a heated discussion about apostrophes will find lots of like-minded and pleasant pedants.

Thanks for reading.

I still have an unmentionable amount to lose but I am now concentrating on losing the next 40lbs. I hope to get there by November or Christmas.

Wish me luck.
