I can't of dropped 40lbs in 9 days...what is going on ?

I am a very fat 20 stone woman with medical issues.

Currently following a very strict low cal medical eating plan under dietician for the past 9 days, another 13 days to go :(

The digital bathroom scales which are still working correctly for my DH, tells me I have dropped 40 pounds over the last 9 days !

That can't be right, can it ?

I do minimum of 5 miles walking a day (11, 000 steps via Fitbit), 15 minutes of body weight with trx straps exercise x 3 a week and occasional swim at the weekend with my family.

Is this broken scales, water loss or a completed anomoly and I will be much heavier again tomorrow.

Just for completeness. I always use same scales on same point of the floor, when I wake up in the morning. After using toilet but before I step into the shower and naked !

Of course I would be delighted if it was a real loss but logically it just can't be, can it ?

I don’t think it’s toyally out of the realms of possibility!

Twotabbycats · 21/03/2018 23:09

Is this the first time you've weighed yourself since starting? I was thinking if you had weighed yourself every day you would have seen the gradual loss and the total would be more believable! I think there is a case for weighing yourself every day, really so that you can calculate average weight loss over a period of time.

Incidentally I bought new scales and gained at least 2kg overnight 😡

But well done, sounds like you have done so well Flowers

probablynapping · 22/03/2018 00:27

Daily weighing is really useful for tracking your natural fluctuations in water retention etc. It goes against a lot of the 'slimming club' ideologies but takes away the weigh day dread for me and helps me see a trend

Broken11Girl · 22/03/2018 01:50

It's not possible. That's over 10% of your body weight OP (more like 1/7th if my quick estimate is correct). In 9 days. No way. Invest in new scales Grin and/ or get weighed somewhere medical. But respect that you've stuck to that diet, well done Smile

A very sensible 14.8 pounds loss on day 10 :)

Which is not far off my guess of 16. I am happy that this is a true reflection of where I am.

If I stick to eating healthier and exercising, I could be 'back' to the 40 pound loss in three months time...wish me luck :)

That sounds a bit more accurate.... you’re doing great OP. Well done and good luck to you 👍

FoodGloriousFud · 22/03/2018 07:21

14.8 is a brilliant weight loss! Well done for your hard work :-)

Bumblealong1 · 22/03/2018 07:23

That is a great weight loss for that time! Well done and good luck.

tillytown · 22/03/2018 07:40

That's amazing OP, well done!

LoveProsecco · 22/03/2018 07:41

OP you sound so motivated! Star well d

LoveProsecco · 22/03/2018 07:41

Woops lost connection! That should have said well done 👏🏻

Albadross · 22/03/2018 08:10

Engevita yeast flakes are great instead of stock!

RosaRosaRose · 22/03/2018 08:12

Well done! That's a really good result!

Wantacurry · 22/03/2018 09:13

I can have one tablespoon of Engevita yeast flakes daily. Would that be enough to make stock for soup?

As my soup gives me three portions, it is likely I could use up to three tablespoons of yeast per batch.

Over a stone in 10 days is amazing! Bloody well done!

Bluntness100 · 22/03/2018 12:27

Wellł done. That's a huge achievement and a great loss.

IanRushesInadequateFlushes · 22/03/2018 12:42

Well done OP, a stone off is amazing!!

loveisevol · 22/03/2018 12:55

Wow well done. Really pleased for you.

RaininSummer · 22/03/2018 12:57

Very inspiring OP - I was going to say onwards and upwards but forward and downwards is better.

Wantacurry · 22/03/2018 13:25

Yes, a stone is a good start. Just 7.5 more to go !

The Fodmap stock cubes have turned up and guess what is a major component ?

Yeast flakes, lol. I will be making soup with them tomorrow. I hope they taste ok.

Better get a new set of scales then, they can't be trusted! Well done on your real loss, it's still a good amount lost.

PaperdollCartoon · 22/03/2018 13:43

That’s brilliant weight loss, well done!

singmetosleepgarybarlow · 22/03/2018 13:54

That’s amazing. Well done you :)

Salt and other herbs will do in place of stock if you find you really can’t have them. I think most of what our brain registers is the salt anyway.

Keep going!

IanRushesInadequateFlushes · 22/03/2018 13:56

Can you have Tabasco? I did lighter life a few years ago and could only have salt, black pepper and Tabasco. I got quite addicted to it!!
